Did. Can get into safe mode with that, but no regular boot. Getting a 'unable to find driver for this platform ACPI etc

It sounds like one of the kexts hasn't copied correctly.

You can also put them in the kext folder, 10.9 on the clover drive then boot with injected kexts from the usb.

Can you elaborate on that one? How can I inject from USB with Clover?

Issue is that I'm only running OSX on this thing and don't have another computer.

Not smart, I know but I couldn't shrink within Windows, max 2GB.

Going to struggle then, I learned when putting yosemite on that if you can mount the efi partition of the usb, then there is a folder named clover. Inside that there is a folder called kexts. Within that there is a 10.9 folder.

If you paste the kexts into that and then try to boot with the USB plugged in and volume down key pressed as you did when you installed, select your OS X partition with injected kexts.

It doesn't properly solve your problem but if it works and loads with usb access etc then will give you the facility to copy things to the system partition of the SSD then from there can try to make it boot without usb.

Far from perfect but it's an idea to get it going and then try to eliminate the actual issue.

Someone who knows more will likely add to the post shortly, sorry I am not great at it, only going on my own experience.

To be clear, should I tick the box next to "Inject System ID" or not when I have entered my UUID manually (found in the clover boot during boot)"

My installation is a single OSX installation so the random sound thing has nothing to do with any Windows installation. On my installation it is more like 50-75% of the time that my sound is not working. Video is not that smooth either but I guess that is something to be expected when having 4* 1920*1080 running :P. Also quite some video glitches but I guess that is due to me using displaylink drivers for two monitors.

in my install the box is  NOT clicked. is the uuid you used the same as the one you will get during clover-boot-waiting-screen while hitting spacebar? why dont give switchresx a try... works flawlesly and is not expensive. 4* 1920*1080 running ... ummm... OK.

One thing that bothers me is having this inconsistency in shut-down behaviour... maybe that is the cause for the sound-not-working. sometimes it shuts down almost immediatley ... 3 second and the keyboardlights are off - boom -. the next shutdown takes merely 30 to 45 second until keyboard lights are off (and i mean really off... means touching it gives no light)... and then there are middle fast shutdowns 15 to 20 seconds... sometimes the screen hangs... i think it is dsdt/ssdt related, but my time is short ... 7th point on my agenda... ;)

Boot without cache works. Needed to strip LCP kext plugin from FakeSMC.kext.

Still, boot without cache results in a lack of USB.

I also checked the 3 kexts that one has to copy following the guide, they are all OK.

Any more ideas? When I have USB I might be able to fix some things.

BTW, mounting EFI was a nono. Don't see any partitions.

You need to use clover configurator to mount the partition for EFI.

USB I am out of ideas for I am afraid, mine was like this initially but the microsd card worked so I loaded the usb kext on there and copied it over to the ssd and worked from then on.

Of Cours secure Boot is OFF, and my Screen During Boot is red -> normal, just Want to say that sp1 Users also have a red Screen

i can ensure you that Originally the SP1 did not show the red screen.

Probably you have a different f/w revision (bios).

red boot on SF1 (probably SF2): watch and enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-ZxbiJ7fdE

And google was my friend: http://www.surfaceforums.net/threads/red-boot-screen.3935/

I also boot red. Surface 1 PRO. Secure boot is off though.

All right. Verbose + graphics settings as in the guide works.

Micro SD works. (didn't knew my surface had it *ahem*.

At least I can try to fix the errors now, with a different pic. Transferring stuff, etc.

@caleidoScope

That fix would work only for windows or a couple of linux distros, OS X doesn't work with secure boot enabled, and secure boot keys won't install.

Maybe there is a relation between some of the reported issue and red screen.

Even if i still believe that who's having problems its somehow generating them.

Even because I've personally installed Maverick following the guide on many Surfacepros without any issue.

I'm at the 'have fun' part.

Boot from SSD in verbose:
Super IO Device, fatal, unsupported ship (really)

But, goes further.
Network delay is not specified! Defaulting to 0x384

Still going, but then:
Avastar warning: failed to read from pipe and later: failed to write to pipe.

Pipe stalled, should I reset?
Could not send the firmware: 0xe000404f.

And then it's stops at 'VM Subsystem is on'.

Any ideas?

Okay, I installed two different dsdt and ssdt since the sp1 file have two sets. This one works.

Though, still no USB, so no Internet or transferring files.

Help? :)

So... Back from the store.

Got a stick, Mac compatible. Apparently not OOTB so I installed the drivers(thank science I still had the Mac usb cd drive)

And... Nothing.

Now that I'm running an Hackintosh again, is there something special I need to do? To activate it?

Also, I have to tick 'usb fix' in Clover everytime I reboot. Any easier option?

Sorry for all the questions guys. I appreciate the support.

What Stick did you buy?

Have you saved the config.plist after ticking the box?

Missed that option in the guide. Can I just edit the install with that option or should I copy all the files again?

Saw no option for that. But I guess I need the configurator first.

Any other boxes I need to tick?

Stick : Sitecom WLA-3001

Just open configurator, load the config.plist, edit with what you need and save.

I ticked fix LAN and fix wifi as I was having issues with iMessage.

Can't find any info regarding stick having issues. Is it enabled under network and does it load a utility, most seem to.

Well, it isn't enabled under network. It has a utility on the menubar, but clicking it doesn't load it. Dunno why.

In other news: I'm typing this from my Surface. Got internet via RJ45. Not convenient, but it's something.

Where the hell is that Clover configurator? Within the pre boot Clover screen I really don't see any options to save anything.

Ok, clover is two programs, the installer which you used to get the usb and ssd up and running, then a very separate software called clover configurator to edit the things with it, it's a download, I think it may be in the files pack but honestly can't remember.

Well done on getting it going.

The wifi, if it's the ralink app in the menu bar, I had the same issue although different stick.

Try downloading the wireless utility app I have, may work, http://www.edimax.us/html/english/frames/b-download.htm mine is the 7811un, that doesn't really matter though, it's the software you are after.

Clover configurator is a user friendly front-end to edit preferences in a specific plist (config.plist) that's used by Clover to boot.

btw Clover configurator (link) isn't a "official" clover app.
