Think Secret is reporting on the mother of all mac rumors, the iPhone. According to Ryan Kayz, senior editor, Apple and Cingular have signed a contract for the exclusivity of the phone, valid for half a year. The iPhone is still scheduled for an early 2007 launch (Macworld anyone?), meaning that other service providers will join the party around mid-07. Apple is in talks for similar deals around the world, but the source couldn't give more information.

Think secret has previously reported that the phone will sport a candy-bar design, a 2.2 in screen, and a 3 Megapixel camera, and clearly iTunes and iSync integration.

First off, I don't think they'd go with sprint because Sprint uses CDMA. Apple would definately want to to GSM. Secondly, I have no idea why they wanted to go with cingular. Apple should just sell it unlocked from the Apple Store and then you can put your own SIM card on it. I also doubt they'd go for Verizon, again CDMA. Apple's not the kind of company who would like CDMA in my eyes.

jeez how come cingular gets all the good phones? The Razr is the best thing at my carrier. I live in a rural community and there are only 2 carriers, US Cellular (which I have) and Alltell (which can't have enough reception to talk to somebody). I also hope that is not what the iPhone will look like, because it does not at all look like an Apple product, also I really wanted white.

Also, not that I think Microsoft would copy or anything, but I also read there was a Zune phone in development.

i wouldnt even consider a candybar iPhone. yeah its apple, but candybars are horrible. :D

sliders are decent(anyone see the new RIZR?) , but id much rather go for a clamshell. those are the best IMO.

...I hate the RIZR. Heh.

Eh, as much as I love Apple, the "iPhone" isn't likely to appeal to me. I'm a RAZR freak. ;)

I just hope it's nothing like that picture, and that the way the US Mobile networks work doesn't affect the quality of the european models, because let's be honest, if it was going to affect any mobile phone, it's going to be one designed by an American company.

I bought a D600 earlier in the year, so I probably won't buy one unless it can do something very special.
