They have to love Apple.

Why else should they make such a {censored} product. Well, the PooZune comes up with

more details. let me tell you about the PR blog, to answer the battery life of 20 minutes

and the auto-drm container for "no matter what the file".

In my opinion it looks {censored}, but everybody has a different taste and some people

may like the poo brown.

Microsoft wants to be hip, because they know that no one would buy a PooZune if it

would be as hip as Steve Ballmer. So employee Cesar Menendez is doing what? Yea,

a blog, because that is something like hip.

And to be even more hip, the headline is: "INTRODUCING, AND SOME MORE Q'S

ANSWERED"

Wow. He answers some more Q's. This is what happens, when 12 midfourty aged PR

specialists meet at the round table. Lets give them some A's for their Q's.

Also good to know about two people mentioned on the page, starting "their own" blog:

Zuneguy and Zunester. Zuntastic, isn't it? This really looks like the beginning of a million

zunesomethings, starting their tons of hip zune Q-Blogs around the globe.

But there is something funny entertaining, too. For example, "Cesar" has to explain,

why the PooZune is putting a DRM container around every title that you put on the player.

No matter if it is your own song, made by yourself, play it three times and buy it. Muhaaa.

The wlan feature also is very nice. If you want to share your stuff via wlan with another

zune-hipster near you, you should probably buy two PooZunes. Why - because:

The battery plays 4 hours, and with wlan enabled: 20 minutes.

But it's getting even better:

You can buy your music exactly *nowhere* except in the poozune-zone of microsoft.

I think this is really worth it, to pay 60 bucks more than for the 30gig iPod.

Well you had a good rip going until you got here. Erms, iTMS anyone?

hehe, yes you are right, but the good thing is:

in itunes you can burn it on dvd rw and rip it back. With zume, you won't

get that far. (To be honest, I had to google for what itms is. :tomato:)

oh please, you though people were crazy over the ipod when it was first announcd?

Dont be so quick to judge a product thats not even realeased yet. As you may be able to see with the iPod, people dont care about features they just want to be hip.

Who care is they DRM your music when it goes to the zune! when its on the Zune it stays on the zune! It's not like you are going to take all that stuff off and load up your computer. Plus i'm 100000% sure that that DRM will be cracked withing a year if not months.

So just give it a chance.

I really dont like the Zume, and dont like MS getting more share of anything neither Sony btw, the Brown poo Zune is incredible {censored} i can believe some marketing guy suggested that color. The White one in the other hand looks good.

Zune has things iPod doesnt have.... a Big Screen, a perfect sync with 89% of the computer base worldwide, and a the well designed Windows Media Center interface (so more friendly enviroment)...

Really the Zune could be a hard hit for apple, i like a good competition, it willl be better for the consumers but, apple really can't get heavy blows right now, apple computer company the one we love, need to growth.

Cheers

Amen...

Yes, I think this is really the positive point about Zune. Let's see, what Apple has in hand with the new iPod.

btw.:

On one of the fake blog sites from MS, I read that the new iPods now have different connectors. So they won't fit in the old accessories anymore.

If this is true, it would be a bummer.

I'm tempted to see how good will be the zune, just comparing Windows Media player 11 with Itunes 7 and you can see how better is windows media player so I hope they release a good product so apple will have to reduce its prices and make a better itunes with all free features like album image download without any account.

Talk about coming out with the wrong thing at the wrong time. Microsoft rolls out a white and black version of its Zune player, like the video iPod's color options, and decided to add a {censored}-brown to the mix just to differentiate it a bit I guess. Now Apple is moving back into the idea of using brightly colored aluminum casings with it's new Nano line. Suddenly "poopy brown" seems like a bit dull.

Does Microsoft actually hire people to design their products, or do the programmers try to do it themselves? Out of all the colors of the rainbow...

I can't wait for "snot" green and "blood clot" red.

oh please, you though people were crazy over the ipod when it was first announcd?

That was because it was Mac only whenthe iPod was first announced. Apple didn't make its foray into Wintel until well after the iPod was introduced.

BTW, Microsoft will lose money on every Zune player bought.

People won't buy this. People buy what they know, what their friend has, what's out there. And that is the iPod. I am not saying no one will buy it, there are always some straglers out there who use things other than the iPod, but the majority of people know an iPod. It already has a name. Microsoft will have to build that name in record time if they want it to succeed.

Sadly, I think the same reason why Windows controls the computer market will also be the reason why the iPod controls the mp3 player market: people feel comfortable with the most established item and never feel the need to try something new.

Most computers come with Windows preinstalled. Most people use Windows. Most people used Windows as their first operating system and have used it all their life. They feel comfortable with it. Their peers use it. It might not be the best OS, but since the rest of the world uses it, they will too.

Most people automatically associate the mp3 market with iPods. The majority of the portable-audio userbase owns an iPod. Although unlike windows, iPods haven't been around quite so long. Most people probably owned a Walkman as their first audio device. However, they have grown comfortable to the click wheel. Their peers use it. One day it might not be the best mp3 player, but since the rest of the world will use it, they will too.

I can say Windows is horrible because I've tried it. I can't say the Zune player stinks because I haven't tried it. I like to give everything a fair trial before swaying with the opinions of everybody else.

Yes,

just look at the 'features'. Plus Microsoft wants 14 bucks for joining their music store. Fair... I am all for that,

but I don't know if Redmond knows how to spell that.

It would be good to see a real iPod alternative and some competition. But this thing died for being greedy.

I think this will be another flop, after the Gates-announced tablet PC boom and the Microsoft Origami. I think it

simply won't sale because it is too much of an PDA. Why should I buy a zune, if I can have an iPaq with even

more features? Because of the coolness factor. But I don't feel anything cool here.

$14 a month to join, but then download all the music you want for free. for people that download a lot of music, it would be a cheap alternative to $0.99 a song. but then when you stop paying, your music goes bye-bye. i guess whether or not you find it favorable comes down to whether or not you want to keep your music forever, or just as long as you pay a subscription. then again, limewire is free, so the itms model looks crappy compared to it too...then again limewire isn't really legal. :D

If anyone has not seen the Zune's completely original packaging

:) wow.. thats.. sooo... not MS box style.. more like a.. linux? also i open the "official teaser" at https://www.comingzune.com/ , and found the style.. is soooo iZune ... with water reflection shadows on the picures.. (you know what i mean). *sigh*

btw. i think MS trying to hard on this one, but we'll see, it will be an interesting history being made...

and for the zune insider blog, i've read it before had a chance to read this thread, its kinda fishy at the first time i see it.. thanks for the TS for bringing this up.
