@mitch_de,

So you are using the 10.7.3 vanilla IACPUPM kext and went back to the FakeSMC just prior to the updated one? ALso went back to the prior intel thermo and CPU monitor?

Something in the new FakeSMC and plugin may need some modification with 10.7.3?

I found the problem it was the new fakesmc with IntelThermal plugin ( i think more the plugin than fakesmc avoids steppings down, perhaps it reads out MSR values then changing them is blocked?).

First i thried to use old 10.7.2 AppleIntelCPU.... same problem = no down stepping.

Then i used also older (also 3.1.0) fakesmc witn IntelCPUMonitor plugin = WORKS !

There was obviously something wrong with the 11D50 client update (10.7.2 --> 10.7.3) because a) Apple took it down and off their page and B) in 10.7.2 Software Update also only the full COMBO update (11D50b I guess) is offered at this point in time.

Wonder what was wrong with the incremental client 11D50 update meant to update 10.7.2 ....

Waiting for 11D50b client ..

Please post if you find the difference between 11D50 and 11D50b out!

EDIT: Apple Pulls Back OS X 10.7.3 Update for Frequent App Crashes: Redirects to Combo Update Now

I seem to have lost about 15-20% graphics performance with 10.7.3.

Before with 10.7.2: Cinebench FPS was 36-37

Now with 10.7.3: Cinebench FPS is 31-32

Running the benchmark in Win 7 gives a solid 37.

CPU benchmark is the same

This is with nVidia Quadro 2000M

Anyone with similar experience?

Went with normal s/w update from 10.7.2 to 10.7.3 smoothly.

First boot with -x to remove AppleHDA.kext and then normal booting and everything seems to work fine.

It's slightly faster according to Geekbench 2.2.3.

HP 6730b (CoreDuo 2 2.4 GHz + 4 GB Ram + GMA 4500MHD)

My score dropped down 6550 - 6525 :wallbash:

But the difference between windows 7 64 bit and Mac OSX is great

Win = 6100 - Osx 6525 :boxing:

Microsoft is a loser! :angel_not:

Noticed some minor changes:

- In Launchpad, the background effect now changeable with cmd + ctrl + alt + B (before it was cmd + B)

- I can't enable the motion blur anymore in Launchpad and in Mission Control (tried with cmd+ M, and with cmd + ctrl + alt + M).

Well my scores dropped from 6800 to 6500:

i am using a:

- Nvidia GTX 465 (with open cl and gl ok)

- Core i5 760

- Gigabyte H55M-D2H

- DSDT build in base of Maldon sample

I checked speedster with MSR dumper and all is ok, so i assume is a regular point the dropping.

I m having an issue with the IO811Family Kext.

I m using the atheros 9287.

ath_get_caps[4037] rx chainmask mismatch actual 3 sc_chainmak 0

ath_get_caps[4012] tx chainmask mismatch actual 3 sc_chainmak 0

__ath_attach failed!, error[-12]

Causing the kext to not load and the kills my USB.

Without the kext everything it's ok.

Anyone ?

This is exactly what I'm getting (That and "Still waiting for root device", you probably have that too).

Not sure what's going wrong, doing nothing different from what others updating to 10.7.3 do. Just installing the combo update.

I m not having a 'still waiting device".

The thing also, is when i install the kext, the first time it boot normally and the following time i m getting this error.
