Thanks iFabio,

Testing the new DSDT. Working fine here OSX 10.6.2, Core i7 920 @ 3.6Ghz.

My findings:

1- firewire seems to be working - no device for testing.

2- Had to use OrangeIconFix.

3- My second Hard drive (with Windows 7) now shows at desktop, don't now why - It doesn't happen with the previous version.

4- Using Chameleon v2.0RC4_PCEFI-10.5_AsereBNL my memory is recognized as DDR2 other then DDR3.

Any other findings I will post later.

Thanks everyone,

PiSToL

Firewire works, no more boot error and my device, a TC-Konnekt soundcard, works wonders! Better than with Win7 for shure (In W7 I can use buggy betas only, in Snow I have fully functional official drivers, at least). Using it with original Cubase 5.1.1 and tons of plugins.

Data transfer between disks seems to be really improved. Tried also some HDD recording with no problem at all.

Huge Thanks to you sir!!! :) Your hard work is much appreciated- thank you for sharing!

I've also noticed better HD performance and recognition of devices... It's awesome, I love it!

QUESTION 1: where can I find the latest/fixed version of AD2000B.kext? Is the link in your first post the most current version? And- is your sound coming out of the correct output?

(I believe I have the latest version, but out of the three outputs available in the sound system preference pane: only one of them is 'correct'. The headphones does come out of the headphones. One of the 'regular' outputs goes to the center/subwoofer and the other goes to the rear speakers. But there doesn't seem to be any way to get sound to come out of the regular "front speakers" output.

QUESTION 2: is your Firewire working properly? With this new DSDT I have no errors and more recognition of Firewire devices. But still can seem to get access to my FW HD- it says the device is unrecognized. My device is a G-Tech Mini from the Apple store so it should be easily, immediately recognized. Is anyone else able to read/write to their FW connected HD?

Avete soluzione?

I also lost recognition of my ethernet under "PCI Cards"- it only seems to be cosmetic though :)

Very good work! Thank you

Ciao a tutti,

Hey everyone. I've finally got Snow Leopard installed but have problems enabling hyper threading, all cores, and ethernet. Thanks Fabio for getting me this far.

Currently I can boot into safe mode to Snow Leopard, but ONLY with HT disabled, 1 core, A20 disabled, and LAN 1 & 2 Disabled. I think much of my problems comes from my ATI Radeon HD 4850 card.

if i leave HT disabled, 1 core on, and enable LAN my system hangs here, in the attached picture. I'm not sure that my video card is causing this.

post-547631-1263768809_thumb.jpg

I've tried using PCEFI 10.5 (since i have a HD 4850 card)

I've tried adding the legacyati4800controller.kext to my extra/extensions folder

i have:

i7 940 2.93Ghz

P6T Deluxe(BIOS v 1804)

6GB Corsair DDR3 1066mhz

can someone help me get it working with HT enabled, all cores, and LAN enabled?

Hi!

Download the installer here LINK

before reboot download DSDT M2.1 Version for i7-940 (your CPU) LINK

and owerrwrite the DSDT.aml in /Extra/ (same name but different content

I think you don't have problem with your video card...

If this works (I think yes) I explain more tuning...

Wow you are the first I meet with my exactly spec. Mobo & CPU !!!!

Hi Fabio,

thanks for your great work with DSDT.

I have one question, with your DSDT I get "cannot get acpi path for provider" error message and I don't have

AppleSMBusController in registry info, but if I move SBUS device before HDEF device the error is gone and the

AppleSMBusControllerICH is show in registry info.

Can you see why is this happening.

Everything else is working extra, I'm using Asher boot 1.6 and three kexts (ad2000b, FakeSMC, OrangeIconFix)

My SL is installed on soft raid and hdd performance is great.

Thanks in advance,

Kristijan

Try this DSDT. (Fabio's DSDT with moved up SBUS device)

With this I have AppleSMBusController.

flag_ita.gif Ottimo kn6600!

flag_eng.gifExcellent kn6600!

Thanks for the feedback!

I was updating the DSDT with the recent firewire fix. (by MacKonsti)

I also take this change of position and I compile a new DSDT.(VM2.2)

LOL we got to the point of updating the DSDT every week ...

PS:

flag_eng.gifAsereBNL not named Asher but this is a glitch translator from Google.

I read the AsereBLN Booter thread over at efixusers(dot)com and one of it's primary developments is vanilla power management, it allows the removal of openhaltrestart.kext with some changes to the DSDT. The changes are given for a Gigabyte motherboard and I took a look at iFabios DSDT but this is way over my head. dgobe, iFabio have either of you looked into this? Does it apply to our motherboards?

flag_ita.gif Ciao maitaijim!

Conosco gia quella fix,

(alcuni dispositivi rimangono sconosciuti).

flag_eng.gif Hi maitaijim!

I already know the fix,

but deployment is not easy I have other priorities to be fix in our DSDT

1) When I try to fix the firewire which unfortunately is still not functioning properly.

(Some devices remain unknown).

2) I just repositioned the devices in the DSDT was an error in kernel_log (Thanks to kn6600)

and I took the opportunity to give in it the right general hierarchy

3) Reduce the DSDT code: is equivalent to removing code unused by OSX and then boot much faster. The DSDT is written for Windows not for OSX so... I try to adapt it to OSX.

Fabio

Ps : DSDT vM2.2 coming
