amdprophet Posted June 15, 2006 Share Posted June 15, 2006 I'm not a MacBook owner, but I say go for it anyways. If worst comes to worst, just keep nagging Apple about it until they give you a fix. I really think Apple should hire a few PC techies that know how to actually build a system. In my opinion, even with the improper thermal paste appliance, AMD chips wouldn't have caused the heat issues. AMD chips also use a lot less power than Intel chips. I think Apple just likes the fact that Intel is more popular. Anyways, off topic, you could always wait a while, but you'd be without a laptop assuming that your laptop sells on ebay. I want to help Munky and the gang like the next Joe but am also hoping to help myself a little in the process ( ). The sooner we can get a system stared where everyone interested puts their names down and the chain of referrals begins the better. Then this will be a brilliant site. I understand the site is going to go through some make-over redeveloping. Maybe creating a category solely for people to ask for referrals might not be a bad idea. Keep up the good work guys. One thing I couldn’t understand is does the site (which I’m assuming is based in the US) deliver MBP to the UK. I know (or think I know) you're from the UK as am I, so it's kind of important. If you're going to take the cash instead and buy one from the UK then aren't you loosing out a bit because the conversion US->UK isn't great. Also back here it costs more anyway to buy one also. He'd be better off taking a bit of a hit in $$ than get a keyboard that is not what he's used to. (At least, I think so.) Or if you are talking about finding out how many referrals you need to get something you want, it's under the status page when you log into freemacs4me. You're mainly right about them shipping to the US, but they'll also ship to Canada (not that that has anything to do with munky or mashugly). Mashugly already got the cash around a month ago now I think. He lives in the US, so shipping wasn't a problem, he just would rather wait until the second revision of the macbook pros come out (in hope that there will be less problems with them, and have faster processors). I'm sorry if you didn't want to hear this answered from me, but the answers to the questions you asked have already been answered in other posts.
