Credit to Jan Bird for this solution Sorry if this has already been posted, but I haven't seen anything. I've been running 10.5.5 for a week or so without any issues. Yesterday I patched DSDT, removed IntelCPUPMDisabler.kext and rebooted, and sleep continued to work. I then updated to 10.5.6 and now the system won't sleep. I choose Sleep from the Apple menu and the system goes through the usual motions (eg. signs me out of Adium) but then it just powers off completely. As mentioned I tried it on 10.5.5 with the DSDT patch so it doesn't appear to be directly related to that. Has anyone else run into this problem? Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3 Install Method: Boot 132 with retail 10.5.0 DVD Boot Method: Munky's EFI partition trick Third-party kexts: dsmos.kext, patched AppleHDA.kext. Also have OpenHaltRestart.kext (although the sleep issue persists if I remove it) and tried reinstalling IntelCPUPMDisabler.kext with no effect. Video (9600 GT) and sound (ALC889a) using EFI strings. Also have this problem, fresh install update to 10.5.6, no sleep, the machine starts to get into sleepmode but then it stays on... Sleep has been working great since 10.5.0-5 all versions... munke efi partition 6.1 method. DSDT.aml xp/darwin/vista tried all... Natit.kext, AppleAzalia.kext, LegacyYukon2.kext, Openhaltrestart.kext No need for cpudisabler anymore Gonna try 10.5.5 just with and without DSDT.aml Maybe old way and install CHUD + poweroff fix... I just came back and in idling state my screen image was nothing more then noise, like you get on a regular tv when there is no frequency. Bloody hell.
