Thanks MasterChief for discovering this.

Its a lot of work going from 8000~ to 2000~ lines without really knowing what I'm doing... I'd compared your version 3.3 DSDT with my modified DSDT in Ubuntu with the application "Meld/Diff viewer" and installed iasl in Ubuntu for quick compile testing. I'd focused on Shutdown part so I added the AG3E block to the renamed LPCB and added the shutdown code to _PTS... So far 8 shutdowns in a row working right now, I'll do more shutdown tests today, and if it was successful I'll post the solution. Sleep and wake are still functional... also restart after sleep, that's the reason we searched for this solution. Thanks so far.

Sounds familiare... Try a vanilla / retail install, and post some bios pictures of the settings you are using. Because you are also using iDeneb we don't know what kind of "wrong" patching has been done already. We don't know anything :-) I'm also having the shutdown problem because I want to get rid of OpenHaltRestart.kext and get a DSDT fix instead. This thread has allot of info about the p5k e wifi/ap. http://www.infinitemac.com/f57/how-to-snow...2-on-p5k-t3380/

If I'm not mistaking NTFS is always read-only on everything else than Microsoft Windows, only if MacFuse with NTFS-3g or some other NTFS write package "Paragon?" gets installed "MacFuse ships with VMware Fusion". If you got both packages installed and can write on internal NTFS, than it might be a Owner/Permissions problem. Or it is mounted read-only to protect your data... Here is a link to the ntfs3g package that gives write support. http://sourceforge.net/projects/catacombae...sx.dmg/download After patching USB in DSDT to make the ports recognized as onboard, and legacyUSB and wake on USB enabled in bios, without other Software patches/kexts, Wake on keyboard or mouse was working in my case. I'm not the only one with this board and allot share this problem on multiple fora and other motherboards. There is nothing more installed on a vanilla install than FakeSMC and OpenHaltRestart.kext, I'll doubt it will be software a problem but off course its good to block that option. I'll try the shutdown fix which I got in my PM and I'll try your argument. OperationRegion (PMRS, SystemIO, 0x0430, 0x13) Field (PMRS, ByteAcc, NoLock, Preserve) { , 4, SLPE, 1, Offset (0x08), GPSE, 16, GPSS, 16, Offset (0x12), , 1, SWGC, 1 } Method (_PTS, 1, NotSerialized) { If (LEqual (Arg0, 0x05)) { P8XH (Zero, 0x55) Store (Zero, SLPE) Sleep (0x10) } Else { ......your original _PTS } } I'll supply a DSDT.aml and more info later if its not working. Thanks so far for the input!
  6. Master Chief's P5K PRO ACPI Warfare

For Asus p5k e wifi/ap boards, could you post the extra added methods/objects LPCB AG3E for your stated DSDT SHUTDOWN solution? I don't know where or what to put in the missing objects that cannot be found for compiling the DSDT, or are these also in the native DSDT from p5k pro?
  7. OSXRestart.kext

You're right, but you have to admit that a link or clue to the shutdown problem can belong in this thread? Because some people noticed this problem by the use of OSXRestart.kext. Not the whole story of course but just a good link to the solution. Update: Shutdown fix for DSDT for some People with ASUS boards, and maybe others look at this post by me. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...920&st=791# PS:sorry for the thread hijack
  8. OSXRestart.kext

I found this code: Method (_PTS, 1, NotSerialized) // Prepare To Sleep. { If (LEqual (Arg0, 0x05)) // S5 (shutdown). { Store (One, \_SB.PCI0.LPCB.AG3E) // Return to S5 after power failure. } Else // S1, S3 or S4 (S2 is not supported). { \_SB.PCI0.SBUS.DISB () \_SB.PCI0.LPCB.SPTS () Store (Arg0, ASSB) } } But the problem is I think I need to add more methods/objects because AG3E is not in my DSDT and LPCB also. Could you post the codes/steps to just add a shutdown fix and the extra methods for that?
  9. OSXRestart.kext

DSDT FIX for Shutdown: In the following threads is see info about your/mm67 shutdown fix for asus / gigabyte. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=188920 #page 8 "low profile" I'm still figuring it out...
  10. OSXRestart.kext

Thanks for the quick response. Could you point to the dsdt fix for shutdown? Or a section of code in your dsdt? BTW I see you also have Asus boards according to your signature and quadcore CPU's. It remembers me this shutdown problem was mostly with quadcores and the CHUD package was for disabling other cores before shutdown... But that's a old story. specs: cpu Q6600 mb p5k e wifi ap
  11. OSXRestart.kext

Breaks shutdown with this new method! Openhaltrestart.kext fixed the shutdown problem on my Asus p5k e wifi ap, that needed the Xcode CHUD.pkg and the powerofffix.zip a long time ago. But it seems with this new restart method in FADT it fixes "black screen on restart after successful sleep and wake" for me, but it breaks shutdown like you mentioned! Well it sometimes shutdown and sometimes doesn't. The lights are off but fans are still spinning. Maybe allot of users have this but don't hear the fans spinning... that was also my problem. So maybe a lot of users still need OpenHaltRestart.kext, but if they will go with this new method they might also need a fix for halt/shutdown. OSXHalt.kext a new project?, for Asus boards which also need shutdown fix? ps:http://cloud.github.com/downloads/aserebln/Chameleon/Booter_AsereBLN_v1.1.7.zip #only fixes restart not shutdown.
  12. HP Mini 311 - Project Thread (Part I - OLD)

Maybe the dsdt 'hpet/intelcpupowermanagment.kext' fix is blocking the wifi, anyone tried the hpet fix of netkas lately, he made this kext because wifi wasn't working in snow with the hpet fixed in dsdt by editing irqs... just trying to think along with you guys... and waiting for the damn netbook to arrive in holland... http://netkas.org/?p=262
  13. HP Mini 311 - Project Thread (Part I - OLD)

sound: Can't remember where I read something about it, but removing ALL irq's from the dsdt sections like timer hpet etc in dsdt could fix stuttery sound with voodoohda? Wifi: for less than 15 dollar you buy a dell compatible airport card, focus maybe more on sound or sleep? UPDATE... I see you already did sleep: did you fix 'usb' or 'sata' recognition in dsdt for sleepfix? No special kexts added... just dsdt?Maybe its just related for intel chipsets, but you might give it a try... http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=168014
  14. HP Mini 311 - Project Thread (Part I - OLD)

Doesn't kismac comes with own kexts?
  15. Maybe its already answered but does anybody know if 4 of the "white" jmicron sata ports are working right now instead of 2. I know that not all gigabyte boards come with 4 white ports most come with 2. But any updates on this on snow leo?
