    Dell Vostro 1510?

Hello (again, after a couple of years ), My girlfriend has a dell vostro 1510 and complains a lot about it, so i thought i install os x on it like i did on my old p4 dell a couple of years ago (using the 10.4.6 JAS dvd). A lot has changed in this community since then, so I'm not up to date with the current possibilities. I searched the forum for a method to install it on a vostro 1510 and read various topics with problems and some solutions, but no topic with the "super solution". So i ask it here: is it possible to install os x 10.6.x on a vostro 1510 with everything working (sleep, wifi, sound, ...) ? Specs: Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T5670 (1.8GHz) Memory: 2GB - 2 DIMM (DDR2-667) (4GB max) HDD: 160GB 5400RPM HDD Graphics: Intel X3100 integrated graphics Display: 15.4" WXGA Antiglare Optical drive: Slot-loading 8x DVD +/- RW Thanks!

    Unibody MacBook benchmarks needed!

lol, it was nog my fault, my laptop was used to dj at a party and someone from the crowd threw some beer on it (obviously not on purpose) and there may be some very small connections on the print that don't function any more. i did xbench scores and the graphics card has a score 50% lower than a normal unibody macbook. so there is defintely something wrong with it. i just need some more results to compare with
  7. Hey, A long story: i dropped a beer on my unibody macbook. luckely i had an insurance (not applecare, but something similair). the beer was dropped on the keyboard and it also went in the air ventilation (under the screen hinges). there were artefacts on the screen and the backlight was flickering. so the graphics card (which is soldered on the motherboard) definitely had beer over it. they repaired my macbook, but the only thing they did was replacing the keyboard, trackpad and the aluminium unibody frame. so no new motherboard. but i'm sure there was beer on the motherboard. so i thought i make some benchmarks to test the video card and compare them with others with an unibody macbook. good idea? my macbook: 2.0 ghz, 2gig ram, 160 gig hard drive, snow leopard and xp (with snow leopard drivers (important for benchmarks!)) i'd love to have some results from more or less the same macbook. Xbench and 3dmark (2006 and vantage) results are very welcome! (note that in xp i use the bootcamp drivers that came with snow leopard) Thanks in adance

    very slow airport file tranfser

the airport is 1 meter from the imac and my macbook is in the room next to the imac (or somewhere else in the house, but the speeds remain the same). how do i setup a computer to computer connection (without airport)? maybe i'll just buy an airport extreme
  9. hey! I have a big problem: ever since i bought my airport express (the previous model with wireless G connectivity), my file transfers are really slow. First i thought it was because i was transferring files between os x and windows, but now i'm transferring a file between my alu imac (10.5.7) and my alu macbook (10.6.1) and it takes about 30 minutes to copy a 700 mb movie from one hard drive to another. that's even worse than when i copied from my 8 year old dell with to my imac! it's that bad that i can't even watch the movie when i try to 'stream' the movie (just accessing my imac with my macbook and open the file). is there a solution? because wireless G should give me 54 mbit/s theoretically
  10. didn't see that one thank you very much!
  11. Hey, As the title says: when i click twice on a window in snow leopard, it won't minimize like it did in leopard, tiger,... I tried to find a setting for this, but i didn't find any. Does someone knows something about this? I used to use this "function" very much in leopard and i like to have it back in snow leopard. thx

    Decent Video players for Mac?

r u working on a real mac or a hackintosh with QE/CI enabled??
  13. they are already in the gaming market with their iphone and itouch. i think they can make a wonderful console if they combine all their experience from the ipod, apple tv, iphone and itouch

    Decent Video players for Mac?

best videoplayer ever is vlc, and renaming the subtitle files costs you 2 seconds and makes your movie collection a lot nicer
