overflow1972
I added "IntelCPUPMdisabler.kext" to my usb boot key, so now I do not need to delete the kext "AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement". So, after installed the retail DVD, I downloaded the 10.5.4 update and the installation was ok. At the reboot I know have "waiting for root device". Do you know if I now have to delete some kext ? noob766
i have a question...ok, put the CD of Boot-132 and Install Leopard.. ok all is well.. but if i install Chameleon EFI.,.. can i still using the software update? or not? Thanks yes you still can for chameleon stores the kexts in root/extra/extensions overflow read this part -root is your main drive, where you see all the main folders... system, library etc. -to get it to boot correctly you will need to enable the ability to see hidden items (I don't remember this code at the moment but when I find it I will post it) -copy your cd files into your main root drive not a folder named root! -open initrd and copy the folder extra into your root drive -should boot now. guaterickie
Sharing my success! Specs are now updated in my signature. I just burned the generic.iso without modifying and booted up to it, then swapped to the Retail disc and did everything as normal. About 3x faster than with a Kalyway Disk. Once i was done installing i booted the generic.iso again and entered 80 for my first HD where i installed OS X. booted up no problems so i went on and installed the 10.5.4 combo updated without any problems. Again rebooted with generic.iso and i added some of my kexts (audio and dsmos.kext) then i added my gfx card with EFI studio and finally i installed the Chameleon bootloader. Then i rebooted without the CD and voila! a fully working retail rig. Perfect! Everything works! Here is a screenie: Thanks for all the hard work everyone! boxer82003
hey guys, here is the latest version for P35-DS4, now with audio enjoy http://www.mediafire.com/?zxl1egb4u7m well i just did a clean install using the new iso with audio after boot i did not have sound, however i was able to use AppleHDAPatcher 1.20 and my dump file to get audio working, which was not possible to do before i had to use newmackys method. on the video side, i had to install NVinstaller v52 in order to get my video past 1024x768 which i did have to do before anyway. i then upgraded to 10.5.4 and i had to re-patch audio, video was fine i also noticed i get kernel panic when i try to shut down, Restart works fine also note i do have a different board. thanks Elastic keep up the good work !!!! newmacky
I FINALLY GOT IT TO WORK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS TO NEWMACKY i belive your original instructions were perfect newmacky. the problem was me i had forgot that i had downloaded Elatics new.iso here and if i booted from it i could not get sound using your method after booting with his original iso it works, so i am not sure what elastic changed. wow this is awesome !! Glad it finally worked !! ~~ @Newmacky I notice we have very similar hardware...except I have an 8600GT instead of an 8800GT. Do you notice any slowdowns at all with your card/system? I'm noticing a few with mine, and I'm wondering if it's because of the 8600GT or not. If it's not related to the video card, I'd rather now spend the $150 on one My system works amazing .. I havent really played much with it ... want to do some overclocking and such ... right now my Xbench score varies from 200-210 .... my system reads all the 4GB RAM (Vista 32-bit couldnt of crse) .. Video is amazing in 8800GT ... Apple 10.5.4 combo update plus the Device string in boot.plist did the trick for me .... In a nutshelll a super stable rig IMHO .. ~~ @overflow1972 For me, I had to perform the combo update BEFORE i modified any kexts inside Extensions. I have a feeling the updater stalls because it's trying to find kexts that are no longer there Since I'm on the topic already: If this is the case, what does this mean for future updates for 10.5 if certain kexts have been removed/modified from the Extensions folder? Honestly speaking I just left all the kexts in my folder ... and simply replaced AppleHDA.kext and put AVInject.kext ~~ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114651-modified-boot-132-bootloader/page/15/#findComment-823476 Share on other sites
RënKästle
i have an other question .. how about the DualBoot with Boot-132? How can i Do That? with GUID Partition Table? Or is Better With MBR?? Thanks Again Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114651-modified-boot-132-bootloader/page/15/#findComment-823493 Share on other sites
guaterickie
MBR doesnt seem to work though. if you mean dual booting with same HDD i dont think its possible because when using retail disk i tried MBR and it said it could only install to a GUID partitioned hard drive. now i have to go out and buy a new one for vista because i like this leopard setup too much to go back to the old way...lol Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114651-modified-boot-132-bootloader/page/15/#findComment-823507 Share on other sites

overflow1972
I did one step ahead. I now have leopard retail installed, with 10.5.4 update and QE/CI working at 1280*1024. I have now to solve one problem. To boot this system with my usb stick I need to use -v -f, otherwise the boot stops with the loading of something like "itune.....kext" or "iphone....kext", and I do not know the reason. If I do not use -v -f, the system stops. If I use these flags, the system boots correctly. Do you know the reason ? I just updated the system with 10.5.4, but I did not install the others update suggested by apple (itune, quicktime, etc) Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114651-modified-boot-132-bootloader/page/15/#findComment-823852 Share on other sites
