So does it mean, we can use B14 with AppleACPIPowerSource installed?

Hi rals2007,

Sorry for the late reply. I have tested it and you can also have AppleACPIPowerSource installed on the system. AppleACPIBatteryManager will be loaded before AppleACPIPowerSource.

This is what I get on booting up on my acer travelmate:

kld(): com.apple.driver.AppleACPIBatteryManager load command 2 unknown cmd field

kld_load_from_memory() failed for module com.apple.driver.AppleACPIBatteryManager

Failed to load extension com.apple.driver.AppleACPIBatteryManager.

Couldn't alloc class "AppleACPIBatteryManager"

However, the battery meter does show up on the menu bar.

Wondering what's wrong...

This does not work on my Acer Aspire 5601.

Hi poopmonkey,

I think I need more informaiton than just "This does not work ...".

Are you using the original PowerManagement on your OSX? Which verison of AppleACPIPlatform are you using now? If possible, please offer some informaiton. Thanks.

Hi eclau,

Are you using Tiger or Leopard on your Acer? Which version of kernel are you using now? You can download the source code and try to compile it to see if the error goes away.

I am using the original 10.5.4 Power Management bundle. I am using the 1.0.3 ACPIApplePlatform.kext version. I'm running 10.5.4 iatkos. Basically, I install the kexts and nothing happens, I do not see the battery meter, I go to the power saving menu and it doesnt even see that I am on battery.

Hi poopmonkey,

On the post #243, PsyberS has posted that iATKOS v4 "does not come with the original PowerManagement.bundle". Maybe you can double check the PowerManagement you are using now.

In addistion, please post your ioreg_sp.txt here if it still doesn't work. Thanks.

Chun-Nan,

I am running Tiger, kernel 8.9.1 on my Acer.

Let me know how to download & compile. Thanks!

Hi,

Beta 13 kext working flawlessly. However I found out that when there is no battery installed, the power icon indicate "Power Source: Battery". But it detect that there is no battery installed. Chun-Nan, let me know if I need to post anything, dmesg & etc. Right now I'm changing from JaS 10.5.4 to Kalyway 10.5.2, because of stability issue, so I can't post system log or dmesg right now.

Hi eclau,

All the source codes are on the 1st post. In order to compile the source code, you need XCode. Check your retail Tiger DVD or Apple's website.

Hi kizwan,

If possible or whenever you are ready, post the ioreg_sp.txt with the power icon indicating "Power Source: Battery" when there is no battery installed. Thanks.

will this work in 10.4.8 distros? btw: in my leo install (iAtkos v1) i get batterymeter correctly... how could i get the leo kexts working in tiger? i guess this isn't possible?

Hi mac-fish,

You probably need to compile the source code yourself to make it work on your system because I used 10.4.11 to compile the source code.

Thank you. :)
