so can we anything as of right now on osx86? also, is there a driver for 4985 agn intel wifi? can it connect to a WEP netowrk?

osx86 runs just fine on my laptop... it just runs in 1024x768 instead of a decent resolution. :(

Unfortunately the 4985 won't work. I just purchased a Dell 1390 PCI-E network card from ebay ($12 us, free shipping) and swapped them out. It took 5 screws and was very simple, and now my network runs great in osx86.

Yesterday i've installed my brand new Radeon HD 3650 (3Dconnect, PCIe, 512Mo GDDR2 128bits, dual-dvi) and it works like a charm (CI/QE/OpenGL) ! It's plugged via DVI to my LCD Monitor (Viewsonic VSX 912).

I've downloaded the .pkg for my gfx card linked in the 1st post of this topic and used Pacifist to install the drivers. I choosed "yes" when i was prompted to replace existing files. The i've shutdown my computer, installed the radeon, boot and that's all ! I've no problem at all, no "white menu syndrome"...

My system is up-to-date, 10.5.4 and kernel 9.3.0 (IATKOS v1.0i, vanilla kernel, upgraded each time a new version appears).

Thx a lot to Netkas and lastExile for the great Job.

cheers

Ohai everyone !

so 10.5.3 update just releeased so here are the updated kexts and so on for the whole Radeon HD series

what needs to be reported back is for 2400 users,2600 and 3650 users for what works and what doesnt

report back on dvi on 2400 !

AGP users might need to reinstall AGPgart a updated one check the threads for a newer release

for some users that are on nvidia nforce motherboards delete all nvidia and geforce kexts that are the for the video cards, seems like nforce chipset has a conflict with the kexts

Need some testers for AGP cards like ATI Radeon HD 3850

Current testing 3690, 3450

Mobility still being researched and still PITA only external monitor

oh tho need testers for it on 10.5.3 kexts

report back on the installers how they work and so on !

the links will be updated as soon as people reports back on bugs

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 3870 512MB GDDR4 doesn't work with installer in the first post.

I got this screen:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...st&id=26540

But if booting in Safe Mode it works perfectly.

Any solutions?

But now I'm going to try TRIAKIS.

I'll let you know.

YEAH, for me using TRIAKIS (ist within the ATINDRV.KEXT, used insted of LUMNA) fixed excat this scrambled screen on my MSI 3850. This TRIAKIS is an modded Framebuffer used insted of LUMNA Framebuffer.

BE CAREFUL if you switch to TRIAKIS:

If you use it with NATIT you MUST change/check natit .plist also !!!

You have to change all LUMNA to TRIAKIS text (also ..Parent) in the fitting .plist part for your ati modell name!

I use efi gfx string with my MSI 3850 and TRIAKIS ATINDRV.KEXT, so i dont need natit.kext.

Also:

I couldnt get the whitemenu away - only using the OLD ATIRADEON2000 drivers 1.5.24 (latest are 1.5.28 from 10.5.3). These OLD drivers are mostly installed by the whitemenu fix DL. Fixes but on step back in driver newness.

I use now the 10.5.5 Dev (9F9) ATI 1.5.30 drivers (ATI... + OpenGL Framework)

You can DL that (9F9) driverset here: http://nvinstaller.com/
