all 3650 AGP users please report back what works and what does not work and if its with AGPgart or not and some benchmarks all 3400 users im made some progress with mine that i borrowed from friends

the newest package lastExile posted does not work on my PCIe HD3650 under 10.5.5.

desktop picture shows up as it should, but no menu bar and no dock, no desktop icons.

just the mouse cursor hovers alone. the loneliness of the mouse cursor.

 

strange thing is,

I downloaded and installed old HD3650 pkg on the first page (with id 9598)

I thought it was a new one.

and it worked!! QE/CI/GL support. so I thought lastExile's 'new' driver saved my ass.

and... I joined an irc chat, lastExile was there, he asked me to test his new package.

after failure, I installed my old HD3650 pkg again, but it didn't work.

what?! so I checked the size of the pkg, time-stamp of the file, etc. and found out that it was the same package I had installed long before.........................................

so, I understand the old package doesn't work. I don't understand that it somehow worked at least temporarily...

I dont know, but it may be an problem of "second monitor phantom". The screen shows second monitor desktop which is sure empty.

Maybe there are some little diferences between both NATIT .plists for monitor selection. I would check that out and make changes in the newer one (newest set) to get the .plist similar with old one.

I installed the pgk file on the initial post for the ATI RADEON HD 3850, the white menus are gone, but everytime I scroll down or up, or move a window, it creates a hall-of-mirror effect. I just got my Linksys card to work, so I want to try and keep my OS X installation from dying..

Hi, I've been searching areound but couldn't find any answers. Does anyone know if and where I can get drivers for HD 3650 for 10.4.11?

 

AFAIK, the driver for this card didn't show up til 10.5.3 - Prior to that the kext is installed and the card is recognized, but under Leopard you get software Core Image and no Quartz Extreme. After 10.5.3, everything works...

I have a Visiontek hd 3650 512mb ram.

 

Tried out tons of different combinations.

 

I have 10.5.3 Kalyway combo with latest 3650 drivers from here. QE does not work. It gives garbled screen/snow often (both with dvi2vga and dvi). Currently running in safe (-x) mode which does not have QE.

 

Often get 'Natit was installed improperly' even after doing pacificst/repair prem.

 

I'm doing to do try again with a fresh reinstall of Kalyway and 10.5.3.

 

Eventually I want to run dual monitors.

 

QUESTION: Is this gonna improve ? Or should I return the card and get another one ?

It works, it says it is a Radeon 2600 XT, but i have an Gigabyte HD Radeon 2600 Pro 512 MB 2x DVI. Is this a problem?

No QE for my HD2600XT 512Mb AGP(0x9586)!!

 

Any idea to fix it? Can i change strings for my card anywhere in x2000 kexts??
