hey all,

thanks again for the nice messages. booboo is *still* nameless, and is currently feeding. anyone got any suggestions for names? i'm serious!

btw, the x1800 (which is a 256Mb PCI-E 'GeCube' X1800XL) gives me full QE, CI and OpenGL acceleration under 10.4.4, with a max res of 1280x1024x32 (at 60Hz i think), with a tiny amount of mouse tearing now and again.

i've heard people with x1600's can get 1600x1280 (the lucky bastards)

cheers

:):whistle::D

my wonderful wife-to-be gave birth to our first child yesterday, after a marthon 36-hour labour.

naturally, you'd think i'd be absent from this forum for a good while, but hey, he's asleep! (ok ok, so im an ubergeek...)

anyway, while apple's Feb 28th announcements might have been a bit 'meh', our Feb 28th arrival KICKS ASS.

cheers and big ups

- munky daddy

:D

Congratulations!!!

Cool Daddy! :D

Still searching for a name for Booboo? I can't suggest my name lol ... my brother is called Chris but that's a bit old-hat now. I once fancied a really HOT Scottish guy called Hamish so I like that name a lot! :D

that was an option for a while. current options are:

Rory (my name, but dont tell Apple Legal)

Ruaridh (pronounced rooree, the gaelic version of Rory)

Gordon (my other half's dad's name)

Grant (my other half's brother's name)

Matthew (ok not terribly scottish, but my best mate's name)

Ewan

James

Help!

Matthew, FTW!

Since it is my name, it would kick ass to have a child named after me. His middle name could be Bond as well. :P

And....Hamish? :hysterical:

Rory - not a bad name...know a guy with it

Ruaridh - ack! spelling!

Gordon - Freeman? Bah, weird sounding.

Grant - a war general? Weird as well.

Matthew - old hash

Ewan - Ewok?

James - Old, but classy. The best pick

Prawker, Kiko & Numberzz - damn that way funny.

And PM naa dude i'm sure it's just as bad

PS: I think the thread should be called my son arrived 12 years ago just for you. :P

PS2: Just for PMs sake, can we have an updated pic just so we can prove once and for all that that kid could not have arrived yesterday from your wife (by now I guess).

PS3: No matter how many times I read this, I can't stop laughing. I don't think I've laughed this much a month or two. Thanks PM and everyone else.

The bit about Ruaridh (my son) is javascript, and will always be correct :(

Today it says:

"My current Life Status is that i'm engaged to be married to Claire, who recently gave birth to my first child - a son, by the name of Ruaridh, who is currently 1 year, 9 months and 20 days old."

Anyway, thanks for the belated congrats, PM ;)

And finally, for the curious, here are two pics of the wee man taken fairly recently:
