I like the logo by henbjo the most. I agree with the wave radiating from the antenna. It also has a nice subtle gradient. :(

I think so too. Great improvements!

contrasting font sizes is distracting, and "alarm" font weight is too light. punch up "alarm" in bold, use the same font size for all text, and consider using an outline instead of solid for the 5, as you still need to draw attention to it without adding a new color to the mix.

that's what i'd do anyway. ;)

henbjo design is cool, except the waves on top of the "l" make it look more like a giant "i". that's one thing to consider. as a whole "alarm5" should have the same font size. what about having "alarm" in a shade of gray and then the "5" in a darker shade of gray or black. also, maybe reproportion the waves and add another one. so far kdays' is the one i like the most.

I don't have a favorite font, I use a lot of different variables based on the website I'm designing, and the company feel that I'm working for. If anyone's interested in a collection of fonts, check out my more recent thread: http://forum.insanel...showtopic=31701 I counted a working 3456 Fonts after I installed the whole collection.

I find myself using Trebuchet MS a lot--it can be used in just about any context.

@joseafus: Are you thinking about Century Gothic?

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Futura. I love the Futura family as well as the Helios family. They're very well done.

I love using myriad pro and helvetica neue, especially the condensed/bold condensed of both versions.

Futura, Myriad, Helvetica Neue, Trade Gothic, and DIN

I rarely need to step out of those 5 fonts unless a serif is called for :(

I usually stick with Times and Verdana. The only other font I use is Augie for my header. It's become the official font for my website.

I usually use Verdana for my site but I love Myriad. Its the font Apple uses for advertising and stuff. The font is very expensive but I just found a forum thread where you can download it for free. Here are the download links:

Myriad Apple
Myriad Pro

I am sorry to say though that its a Windows TrueType font converted from the original Mac version. Here is the original site I got the download links from. A user called "MiLToS_666" posted the download and he says to sent him a PM if you want the original Mac version.

Although i agree with the basic "principals" of design, EQUALLY important is the CLIENT, PRODUCT, MARKET....

I, most of the time spend a day or so with the client in their working envitoment and if this is the feel you got from your clients business....GO FOR IT!

SticMAN

Sometimes you go with your feelings

Yea, It looks unbalanced. Either you need something on the other side, or you need to downsize the radio waves. I tried downsizing the radio waves real quick just for an example and I think it looks much better.

The Myriad and Helvetica Neue font families are the best by me.
