strange...

@cyberdevs

tell me exactly

since 4092 to 4101, there is not big difference for install HS.

tell me exactly

1.Bootloader version

2.FF

3.FFM

4.BIOSROM

i think. you maybe not try to use iMac18,1 info in r4101.

both r4092 and r4101 are same FF,FFM.

PF(platform feature). In Clover gui, only the decimal value (65535) was changed to hexadecimal 0xFFFF.

both 4092 and 4101 dont use PF. because of 0xFFFF

Enabled spctl and new command in Terminal: sudo spctl --master-disable. It's OK.

when fresh install macOS High Sierra DP 2 Update 1, in r4101, did you try imac18,1 bios version and date with clover default FF and FFM?

I can't use any other versions of clover rather that 4092 or 4097. As I told you before when I use clover builds that I build with Build Clover command after the first reboot whole system freezes so I have to reset the BIOS by using the Clear CMOS jumpers, so I have to stick to the 4092.

By using 4097 however the system won't freeze but it gives me the OSInstall.mpkg error unless I detach all the hard disks and only leave the one that I want to install macOS High Sierra on.

I look here and I do not understand too much ?
For my part I do not need to put any information SMBIOS to create a USB Installer MacOS High Siera Beta 1 , Beta 2 and Beta 2+1
This since Clover r4097 and higher.

This also depends on the method of installation

...

I've been doing some more tests and I'm glad to tell you that with clover 4092, iMac18,1 SMBIOS with BIOS version:IM181.88Z.0147.B01.1706251744 BIOS Release Date: 06/26/2017 I was able to install macOS High Sierra DP 2 Update 1 with no problem, No OSInstall.mpkg error with all of my other Hard Disk Drives attached and with having clover installed on the EFI partition on all other hard disks.

..

Whoaa..  :wub:but if I'm using @cyberdev's r4092 (BOOT.efi && CLOVERX64.efi only) together with iMac18,1 SMBIOS with BIOS version:IM181.88Z.0147.B01.1706251744 BIOS Release Date: 06/26/2017, I always get this awesome red on black "RIP" logs; right b4 clover bootscreen appears. Fyi, my working SMBios should to be MBP10,1. Even if I got boot with iMac 18,1, I can't see my Graphics (GF119) to works (blackcreen). I'm using Legacy-GPT scheme; trying Install macOS 10.13 Beta DP1. Couldn't get any log.. hmmmb.

@Sherlocks

This the snapshot that I took from clover and I posted earlier. I don't know if you seen it but here it is anyway.

These are de default values of the clover I didn't change anything

@chris1111

I had no problem installing the DP,DP1 and DP2, but ever since the update 1 (or the first public beta 17A291m) came out, it gave me the OSinstall.mpkg error I tried to update directly from App Store and I also tried the clean install option but I had no luck, so I started to test the different approaches which all of them failed expect for the one that I posted here, I don't know exactly why but it is the only working solution that I have found so far. There are some other guys whom have the same problem so I what I've found so far.

Here U go  :)

Thanks a lot :)

@Sherlocks

Is it possible that the problem might be because of using an older CPU architecture like Ivy Bridge? I've been using my older pc for these tests which has an Ivy Bridge CPU, Matgen84 uses the same architecture.

I'm installing macOS High Sierra as we speak on my SkyLake machine and it's working perfectly OK with clover r4101. I'm just curious to know why on some machines it's resulting to OSInstall.mpkg. @SavageAUS has a haswell cpu on his laptop and he is experiencing the same problem.

I'm just curious to know why it is happening. Can you please enlighten me on the subject?

okay. we got a great point now.

first we need to check install problem(OSinstall.pkg) on each intel cpu architecture.

checklist

1.lynnfield

2.sandy

3.ivy - problem

4.haswell

5.broadwell

6.skylake - me, cyberdevs

7.kabylake

red is problem.

blue is no problem.

to clear issue, first check

try to change ivy smbios to haswell or skylake or kabylake smbios on your ivy build.

it's not potential fix. we are going to temporarily check what problems are occurring and where

Ok but the sad thing is that I just can't use the 4101 on my Ivy Bridge because of the freezing problem and unfortunately I don't have any other system at my disposal right now to test it.

But I will test the clover that Badruzeus sent me tomorrow to see if it makes any difference. I will check with both iMac17,1 and iMac18,1 later to see if I still get frozen.

Okay. I ask you again.

Can your skylake build install fresh HS BETA2 Update1 without OSinstall.pkg issue in clover r4101 default FF/FFM?

Did you check surely?

Same for me with FakeCPUID 0x0306A0 for my G1840 celeron

Hi @Sherlocks, for report only..

I recently use Enoch r2885 (Test_Version) for trying 10.13 DP1 from USB, it boots just fine begun with "Language Selection Menu" (afaik this menu doesn't appear if using Clover). Just thinking that I could bypass the issue.. but unfortunately it also gives same "OSInstall.mpkg" error message after clicking next button below.  :lol:. What different is I placed "/System/Library/Kernels/kernel" (since Enoch / Chameleon ask this). OFC, using a working SMBios from Sierra & below versions (MBP10,1), and also 2017 Platform Datas (iMac18,1 Bios Version & Release date too, etc). But it doesn't make a sense.

The only test I didn't try yet is plugging out my SATA drive since (looks like) another OSes inside it cause problem, or another reasons. Thanks

(still using same mach as seen on my signature, tomorrow test)
