Yes, and as i said this is wrong. If you want this application to work in 10.6 - you need to setup like this
Leave SDK as 10.7

What did you do I can only imagine. HWMonitor and kexts used are incompatible (from screenshot). SuperIOFamily now standalone but in your kernel log Nuvoton plugin trying to load...

P.s. what you could do: delete all HWSensors kexts and apps installed. Reinstall them from the package from the latest revision.

Short description how to get gain values for different voltages.

First of all you need a reference point: information about voltages from BIOS or other software from Windows like AIDA64, HWMonitor or OpenHardwareMonitor.

Now I know 5V value is 4.919V on my system and 12V is 12.239V. Voltage input for 5V is VIN3 and 12V should be VIN5. How to calculate Gain value? The formula is: Gain = ( Vref - Vraw ) / Vraw, there Vref is the reference voltage value obtained from BIOS or dumps and Vraw is the raw value read from specific voltage input. My Vraw values looks like this (sorry for russian):

The 5th voltage is VIN3 (Power Supply 4 in HWMonitor.app) and 7th voltage is VIN5 (Power Supply 6 in HWMonitor.app)

To get picture above you need to edit SuperIOSensors section for your Super I/O chip. It should be like this:

Note: Power Supply %x names always showing greater to 1 in HWMonitor.app. You must close all programs running and wait for voltages to stop changing their values.

On the full system load It should be voltage drop on 3.3V, 5V and 12V rails depending on your graphics and power supply used. Then I am running Prime95 and Unigine Heaven at the same time I am get something like this:

As you could see there is Vdrop on VIN2 (3.3V), VIN3 (5V) and VIN5 (12V).

3.3V is ok without any modifiers using on VIN2.
For 12V input I have now: Gain = (12.239 - 3.088) / 3.088 = 2,9634067357513 ~ 2.964
For 5V input I have: Gain = (4.919 - 2.928) / 2.928 = 0,67998633879781 ~ 0.680

So I should edit my IT87x section like this:

The latest developments of HWSensors are great.

On windows also the themperature of the PCH is shown is this possible on os x as well?

Also the Power information on SNB (Package, IA Cores, GT ) would be a great feature.

The latest developments of HWSensors are great. On windows also the themperature of the PCH is shown is this possible on os x as well? Also the Power information on SNB (Package, IA Cores, GT ) would be a great feature.


I could add another SMC keys to represent temperature inputs that you think is PCH on your system. Where is no auto detection for ITE chips so it's up to you to edit info.plist.

Powers and other SNB info is difficult for me to make from the stratch without corresponding hardware. I will check if OpenHardwareMonitor has already Sandy Bridge monitoring code, maybe I could port it.

P.S. Sorry, understand, It all inside the CPU. Will see what could I do.

SuperIOSensors now supports config based on specific motherboard manufacturer and motherboard name.

Now I could add your specific sensors configuration into project and it will stay with updates. But I can't get it without your help. If you already configured SuperIOSensors info.plist, please attach your sensors config and ioreg dump (saved with IORegistryExplorer) from the latest revision kexts. If OpenHardwareMonitor shows you proper voltages in Windows, please attach also OpenHardwareMonitor dump.

HWSensors has bad notebooks support for now. You could use ACPISensors but it needs understanding in ACPI programming. There is good topic on projectosx forums about this.

I'd like to try to help and get a configuration for the Gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 motherboard (w/ITE8728), but I'm not sure how best to go about doing it since I don't own a copy of Windows to install on it (all of the programs you list for dumping the values for are Windows-based and the BIOS seems to be missing a number of the voltages.)

What we need is a reference point. Only manufacturer knows multipliers it uses to get proper voltages. We could obtain it inderectly by checking bios values or using other software. Other software available only for Windows. Also if you are an engeneer of electronics etc. you could obtain divisor resistors values.. It's a hard way.


Another way is much simple - usebios or windows. Another problem here is to use proper voltage input for proper voltage type (3.3g, 12v, cpu vcore etc). Thats why I am used windows programs - to find proper voltage inputs.
