i agree. rEFI (XPC) does an compete different way of booting - no chameleon options like autographics inhection, powermanagement (Pstates & Co). I also will wait. I tried XCP from USB Stick again, and it fails to boot anything (10.6/10.7 in my case).

Insted of old XPC efi, an much more developed efi ##### can be used : http://www.mediafire.com/?72yby127d562cj2

I will give that an try :(

Thanks !

I tried ##### (also uEFI) with Snow Leo install and it worked (XPC not). I now will try your listed steps for 10.7.

##### DL Link some posts before, if others cant use XPC.

##### is more new than XPC and also listed as 10.7 usable.

I tryed ##### and it works with SL but no luck with vanila Leo. XPC does not seem to work on both.

I will have to get a spare hdd drive to do a little more testing.

Can someone post an actual exact tutorial, in correct english?

This would be a godsend. I tried XPC but I do not believe I am doing it right.

A proper tutorial would be most appreciated.

Are you running the command prompt as Administrator? Try formatting the portable drive yourself to FAT32.

Hi,

I installed tomLoader to an usb pen drive, but when I try to boot lion it loads all kext and then it reboots...

I have tried the followng options -v -s or -v -f in flag

in defaut kernel mach_kernel

Any ideas?

try -x to start without any third-party Kexts...

maybe this is working...?

Hi again,

I've redone all from beginning... I restored basesystem.dmg to and external hard disk and then copied packages files to System/Installation/Packages

Now when I try to boot with xpc it hangs at loading the extensions caches... Only the caches not all the kexts!

What can I do?

P.S.

Yeah, I have an Asus MB... grrr

Go stuck there, too first:

boot into your install and delete the extensions.mkext file from startup (14,7 MB)

In my case it loads all extensions, then just reboots instantly like stated before :)

@blade5502 - your instructions are just what users here are after and ##### did make it easier for me than using XPC.

Of course, all credit goes to usr-sse2 for enabling the first Lion hack!

Boots just fine here ;)
