Saturday outage

Apologies for the recent prolonged outage we had - contrary to rumours of us being forced down by Apple, it was merely a power outage as a result of our data centre upgrading the UPS. As a result, our systems were turned off and then on again which caused us lots of problems synchronising without storage arrays, resulting in the 10 hours of down time :unsure:

 

If anyone finds any problems with the site in the meantime, please let me know, but I believe everything should be back to normal now. :)

Good to hear Apple didn't take you down, not that they have a reason to all this site does is increase their popularity.

It sure does... I don't know how many people I know went from PC to Mac because of the OSX86 I had installed on their PC!

Getting "Sorry, the server is too busy to handle your request, please try again in a moment" almost every time I try to open a page at the moment, along with IPS driver error pages and general slowness, followed by periods of instant response. Wierdness.

I wonder if this could be related to the sudden shutdown of the more private G...Demon and the posting of many of the installers on the more public P...Bay. My guess, from looking at the exponential increase in noob's on the forum recently (nothing wrong with being a noob, just a realistic observation), is that so many more people are accessing the site and that might possibly be causing some of the slowness you mention.
