Today Apple seeded builds of Leopard through Software Update. The update includes fixes to wireless networking and RAW image viewing in the latest development build of Mac OS X Leopard. The update is also being used to test new features with in the Software Update mechanism itself. Leopard is supposed to ship in October. If Apple does not get Leopard to GM soon, Leopard will not ship in October. If this is the same as Leopard's 559 Build, we will see a full update tomorrow if not sooner.

Yeah, Leopard needs to be gold master soon. I can't wait until Leopard is released. Leopard will be a worthy upgrade.

Nice, I am still not sure though whether or not I will upgrade when it comes out though....

Can't wait for Leopard here.

Hopefully this one doesn't make everything go crazy like the 9a527 update did.

Off to the Leo forum to check on it.

What don't you like about Leopard? Honestly, Leopard will be a better upgrade than Tiger. That's for sure. Tiger was just a service pack and feels "incomplete". Leopard will be worth the upgrade.

I've noticed that ADC leopard builds these days are almost always around 28-32 builds away from each other

9a466 => 9a499 => 9a527 => 9a559 => Hypothetically we will have 9a589

No, actually this build has the same build number. It says it is now build 559. :)

You can theme Leopard if you don't like the UI but I think you will get used to Leopard's UI once you use it. There will always be people who won't like Leopard at first but will like it after they use it for a while.

It is not so much that I do not like it. It is more like the idea that I will play it safe and wait until the first update to upgrade.

And I am not impressed by the transparencies and reflective docks either. Too much like Vista for me....

And let's not forget that Leopard has some under-the-hood enhacements and secret features that currently nobody outside of Apple knows about.

I wish Apple would add an option to switch off the reflective dock desktop—it looks even more pants when set on the left or right sides of the screen. If Apple can't see that, its GUI designers need retraining. But perhaps a 3rd party dev will have a utility to switch it off—please?

Hopefully Apple won't pull a Micro$oft on us with Leopard and delay it till next year. That would be terrible. I want to show off my Mac with the new features to my "Vista" friends ;).

Hey all, just thought I'd drop by and share a little info I just got from the Apple Sales Team.

As of 26/10/2007, all users who've purchased a new Mac on or after October 1st will qualify to purchase Leopard for £5.95, rather than having to pay the full price currently advertised.

To access this discount you need to visit www.apple.com/uk/macosx/uptodate

This comes as a great sigh of relief for me as someone who's just bought his first Mac, only to discover the release of Leopard days later.

Yeah, the reflective dock will be cool for all but 5 minutes... just more of a distraction from the work I never do anyways. I would imagine that the dock has settings to disable reflectiveness.
