Hate to ask for help with this but I installed Kaly 10.5.2 on my laptop (Toshiba Satellite A105-s4004) and have everything working well except for usb ports and wifi (Intel 3945). I know there is currently no fix for the internal wifi 3945 but I have a Microsoft wireless card MN-720 that I have heard will work with the folowing; "Microsoft 802.11g MN-720 Cardbus Broadcom 10.2-10.4 Airport 3.1-3.3; 3.4 and up native Add Vendor ID string". Not really sure what I need to do to get things going. Thank you for any help!

Hi,

I'm trying to update Kalyway vanilla kernel from 10.5.5 to 10.5.6 on a Abit IP35 Pro, but so far without any luck. Mysticus, netkas, DSDT patch methods failed all with panics or Still waiting for root device at first or second restart.

Can you help guys?

Hi all,

Kaly, thanks for the release "Kalyway 10.5.2 Intel/AMD SSE2/SSE3". I burned it to a DVD as suggested and tried to install it on my PC, which is already running Windows XP. I have 2 harddrives and I am planning to use the second one (slave at the moment) to install Leopard. While the primary HD has an NTFS file system on it, the secondary one is formatted with a FAT32.

Here's what I got when I tried to proceed with the installation:

I start my computer booting it from the DVD drive. When Darwin appears and the countdown begins, I hit F8 as you suggested. Then I get to a prompt that says:

boot:

and I type in: -v

After a bunch of lines that say "Loading bla bla ..." are displayed on the screen, this lasts for 15 secs or so by the way, the system reboots itself and I'm back to where I start. This infinite loop seems to go forever regardless of hitting "enter", "-s" or "-F" when "boot:" shows up.

Do you have any idea how to solve this problem ? or anybody else has an idea ?

Thanks for your time and effort in advance,

Cheers,

EAY

Hi Kelly and everybody,

I'm new in this forum. My wife has a MacBook that I bougth to her and she is very happy with it. I have a Dell labtop and I would like to transform it to a "mac" :( Yesterday I installed OSx86 on my Dell using your Kalyway_10.5.2_DVD_Intel_Amd.iso and I have to give you my congratulations because it works at first time :) I'm very happy. But I have some hardware problems, and I don't have idea that wath can I do.

My computer is a Dell Latitude D620 with following hardware:

Intel core duo 1.66 processor

2Gb RAM

40Gb HD

Intel 945GM graphics card

Sigmatel 9200 audio

Intel wireless LAN

Ethernet Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit NDIS5.1

That I would like to improve is:

- wireless doesn't appears, so I cannot use it

- ethernet either (but for me is more important wireless)

- video runs but not properly I just can choose 1024x768 resolution

- I cannot read any usb drive (I can use an usb mouse and it runs but not for drives)

Could you give me please some idea about what i can do to solve it?

Thanks a lot for your help and your good job!!

Nazari

Hello,

how can I add kext to the boot dvd?

I downloaded a kext and now i don´t know how to add it to the dvd.

Should I open the image and add the kext? Which programm is able to do that?

Or should i put only the kext into the folder and burn the image?

Thanks for help,

Markus

I've gotten Kalyway working on my Asrock ALiveXFire with an NVidea 8400GS, I got sound working after installing the AzaliaAudio package. For the install, I had to enable the AMD Fix 1, I also disabled all wireless drivers (don't any) and non-Realtek ethernet drivers and the 'speedstep kernel'.

I was wonder an enhancement, could you automatically save the install selections somewhere (or if they are saved somewhere please let me know).

thanks,

James

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi, I've got a laptop Fujitsu Amilo Xi 1546 with two harddisks and RAID. I created 3 partitions, one NTSC for Windows and two others in FAT 32 for shared files and for MAC. The problem is after booting the dvd and when it comes to install the MAcI have to select the partition in Disk Utility and no partition appears except the Philips Dvd device.

Does anybody know how to make the partitions in Disk Utility appear?

Let's talk about this Kalyway_10.5.2_DVD_Intel_Amd.. I have been reading your site for over a year now and decided today to register because I need a little help here.. I've wasted hours upon hours of downloading and research on how to get these iso's to work and nothing.. I can honestly say I have nothing but negative feedback to give any ISO that was created to launch on a pc..

Kalyway_10.5.2_DVD_Intel_Amd.ISO, is the lately project i'm trying to get to work.. I downloaded this yesterday and read all the directions and I came across 2 problems. 1st one is right off the start the dvd wouldn't launch I got an error talking about a config file that it couldn't find.. Read up a little more and tried again. 2nd problem after adding the Kext file like it said I launch the DVD and numbers all on the screen and machine wouldn't stop beeping.. Now what the hell is going on here..

I've downloaded any ISO there was to work and never ONCE did it work. I don't understand how people are like YEA! worked thanks man.. Other are like need a little help blah blah.. and I read and still never can get this to work.. I've tried every since patch, fixed ISO, tools, old iso's new ones and can't say that I would give anything a good review...

So, what I've asking for here is a little help..Please in detail.. I also wanna say that i'm sorry if this post is a little mean and negative but, i'm frustrated and after a year of tryin things reading and looking for something to point me in the right direction I end up with the same result in the end.. Can someone PLEASE help me in detail and explain what the hell i'm doing wrong..
