What's new in Azureus 2.4.0.0

1.1 Encrypted/Obfuscated Data Transfer

Support for encrypting the data between Azureus and other compatible clients is included. This both provides a level of protection of data and can help with ISPs that block or restrict peer-to-peer traffic.

1.2 High Speed LAN Transfers

Multiple copies of Azureus running on the same local network support high speed direct connections.

1.3 Improved Download Algorithm

The algorithm used to determine which pieces of a download to request from which peers has been rewritten to improve its behaviour and performance.

1.4 Webseed Support

Basic webseed support is included. Webseeds will only be used when a download's availability is less than 1.0.

1.5 Other

Various user interface improvements.

Performance improvements.

Bug fixes.

Now, does someone want to port it? Please?

Edit: Can someone try this and see if it works?. This was a qucky I did in desperation. It works well and v.2.4.0 is really an improvement to the last one. Thanks to Azureus Team for the new version!

Enjoy!

Thx Domino. For me it works well - almost as quick as my bittspirit on windows and i like it.

Well, <http://www.uploading.com/get.php?get=FLANBXCL> does seem to work fine, BUT:

1) Get Info shows no version #.

2) Column headings were hosed on first run; see attached

3) Azureus offered to update to "2.4.0.0" (see same attachment)...I did not let it, but restarted Azureus.

4) Now all seems perfect except for the no version # in "Get Info" anomaly.

Thanks !!!

guyss i have the 10.4.1 installed ....can u please tell me where to download java for my os from ?

I don't believe you can get Java support with 10.4.1. Plus, 10.4.1 is rather outdated these days, and you should really make an attempt to upgrade to 10.4.3. Not only will you get (somewhat) Java support, but possible support for your video card, and an all around faster system!

Other than that, seems to work okay Domino! Time to get some Battlestar Galactica....
