I had the same problem when I tried to install iatkos on the same disk as vista. You could try to set leo as the active partition and then use the darwin boot loader to select vista or leopard.

If you get a hfs+ partition error I would try installing again. Make sure you select the right options for the dvd install. The guide is on the wiki for 10.5.2.

I really think those drivers are worth a shot. Last night I was messing with stuff, and killed my Leopard install, but when I get it reinstalled and working, I'm going to look into it, unless someone beats me to it. They might need a little bit of modification though, I doubt theyll run right as they are.

It's not as easy as you think to change FreeBSD drivers to work with os x.

Im looking into it because I want to learn. Im learning C and Java in school right now but from what I've heard writing drivers is like brain surgery.

We'll see.

I can't imagine it's going to be easy in the least to change a BSD driver in to an OSX Kernel Extension... ...But on any front, good luck and let me know if I can help out at all.

Hi again to everybody!

Hope some skillfull OSX developer soon does us a favor and write a working driver for geforce go...

@wyzazz:

Well, at the time fix thing agian... I just copied the files to the locations wrote at your sign... but it didnt worked. I think I may be missing something.

Could you direct me (us) to any thread from where you found this fix, so I can follow every step?

@..TheOne..

I will try and find the original information I came across, it was posted in a Wiki somewhere, I don't believe it was on this site. I will post the link when I find it again...

Edit: This program (runs in windows) may be an altogether easier solution. OSX syncs time with the Apple Time Server every time it boots, Windows only syncs once a week. This program forces it to do this every time Windows boots. Let me know how it works, and I'll remove the timesync fix in my sig and put this in it's place.

I messed up. I know you need to use the v2 dvd of leo4all but I wanted to try out v3. After a lot of boot troubles I managed to boot but the punk92 installer did not work anymore. Before the punk92 installer I did try the Nvidia kexts from the tx1000 zip package but that gave no results so I tried punk92 which gave no results either. I decided to install all the updates from Zephirots software update by first modifying and then installing from the kexts. Now I'm stuck at boot right after the nvinject message. Single user mode works ok and I've removed some conflicting kexts but the result stays the same. I'm thinking about removing all Geforce kexts all together.

edit:

Thank god. I got into the GUI by removing all Geforce kexts and the NVinject one. I will now try punk92s install. Is v2 the only solution for wifi? There must be a way for v3. I have bcm4312.

Rebuilt file system, updated apps and no overheating issues. I like to test new things as well.

I get these overheating issues as well just as this guy:

http://osx86leo4all.wikidot.com/forum/t-57...v3-on-hp-tx1210

I fixed the resolution by clearing away all Nvidia kexts and then installing the NV kexts from the tx1000 package.

edit:

No luck. I injected the IONetworkingFamily.kext from the v2 dvd without any results.

Well, now this sucks. Every way I try to install Leopard I get an HFS+ partition error. Not surre what is causing it, but I have done everything excapt format the whole drive, and whipe out my vista install too, which I'm not going to do. I have tried 2 different iso's, same result. Not sure what to do now. Whens Snow Leopard come out?

@Wingdom

Not quite sure what the issue is, have you tried burning to a different brand of DVD? That could be the issue. As far as Snow Leopard is concerned, the rumor is that it's coming out at the end of the year.

Well, actually there are 2 things causing your problem here.

One of them is the DVD you're using.

The second it's that you have Vista installed on the same disc.

So, let me explain what's happening. When you install Leopard, it writes the bootloader to your first drive sector, it doesn't matter what partition of the disc you choose to install OSX in.

So, when you try to boot OSX, the bootloader "thinks" that OSX is on the first partition, so it fails to load it from there. That's HFS+ partition error.

You can look for some fixes for it here:

http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...uides#Dual_Boot

There is an easier solution, since as I told you your DVD has something to do because its an OSX image that doesn't have that issue fixed. You can try Zepyroth's Leopard_10_5_2_AMD_EFI r1 or even better r2 image. It has a choice of bootloaders to deal with that problem included on the customizing list of the installation process.

I have also experienced that this is not a problem anymore using Leo4allv2 and Leo4allv3. Anyway this last two doesn't give you the cahnce to choose as Zepyroth's, but things will work from the begining.

Finally, there could be another solution which is to format the complete drive to use it exclusively for Leopard, or maybe have a partition for Vista but to install OSX on the first partition. Anyway you've said already that you wont erase Vista.

I have a HP Pavilion TX1209AU Tablet running Leopard 10.5.3. Has anyone with similar hardware specs manage to get wireless, display working optimally?

@TheOne

I am using Leo4All v2. From everyone elses experience it appears to be the best that works with the tx2000z. If i can find Zepyroth's distro then ill try it. Is it possible to install some things from one dvd, the some from another? Particularly install the Leo4All OS, then Zepyroth's bootloaders? something along those lines.

I think part of my problem came from using MacDrive to try to read OSX files from Windows, but I cant be certain.

Hey people,

Sorry for being away so long. Things have been tuff. So I got my lappy back from repair but I turns out that I now have a TX2500z. (my warranty gave me a free upgrade) I purchased a new tx1000 though to continue working on QE/CI.

About the ATI drivers,

The guy didn't have time to actually show me anything. I did take a look at his installed driver and it was a ATI Radeon 9800 driver. He is going to post some kexts and hopefully some instructions on this thread for us. His email is motion_maker@hotmail.com.

I will continue on th project I started for early for create new drivers now that I've got another tx1000

Broadcom Wireless Problem: cannot detect the wireless network!

The Broadcom wireless in my tx2000z is 4315(a/g wireless): finally I got it working. I used zeph AMD 2 in the beginning, after applying the patch, or manually adding 4315 to the Info.plist in AppleBCM43xx.kext, the network card is recognized with mac address and ...., but it cannot detect and connect to any wireless networks. Tried to replace the whole IO80211 and IOPCIFamily ... from Leo4all, the same problem. Then I decided to install Leo4all from the beginning (I used v3), it turned out to the same problem.

The problem is that I didn't check the ACPI_fix package upon the installation(as explained, for old versions of BIOS, it contains ACPIFamilyPlatform.kext and more). After I manually installed that package from Leo4all DVD, the wireless worked like a charm!

So my guess is that one of the ACPI kext is the cause of the problem. So, anybody who also has this problem, you might want to find a acpi_fix.pkg from leo4all. ( I don't know how to upload files. If someone can tell me, I can put the file somewhere.)

i still cant boot into mAc os x.. i use EasyBCD, so when i turn on my computer, the first thing i see is the vista boot manager, then i select MAC OS X.. then it goes into darwin boot, then i get to choose between vista, mac os x, and the recovery partition.. so i select mac os x again.. then what happens next is the setup thing where lots of numbers and words fill up the screen loading things.. and then after a few seconds, the laptop just restarts.. any ideas?

EDIT: found this

up on youtube, and it's exactly the same problem i have.. so please take a look if you guys have time.. thanks!

EDIT: I also found this in the Leo4all Community site, in the "Known Issues" page..

"My system reboots right after EFI is initialized

Some computers are just not able to run Leopard properly, this is mainly due to incompatibilities between the BIOS and Leopards ACPI platform. You can try a different BIOS revision, maybe you find one that works. Some people have success booting with cpus=1 bootflag at Darwin."

i think this is my problem, not sure but i think i see a "ACPI" right at the end of the loading thing in darwin boot.. i dont get the "cpus=1 bootflag at Darwin".. where do i type that? and what exactly do i type? thanks.. :(

You are totaly right, that wifi issue is due to ACPI kexts. As I reported earlier, Leo4allv3 installation used to make wifi act as you described, it was enabled but it failed to find networks. As I also said, installing Leo4allv2 it worked well, because it uses another version of ACPI. Also, if you have wifi working and you install PowerManagement.bundle it is likely to loose wifi, cause it includes a couple of ACPI kexts.

I do have found some ACPI-related kext that can make wifi work, or recover it from any failed installation. I'll post this pack here, with the instructions of use included.

INSTRUCTIONS.rtf

Symptoms:

1) I've got 1024x768 screen resolution and it is impossible to select another one from System Preferences.

2) My wireless card is on and it's recognized by OSX, but when I search available networks, it doesn't find anything.

Solutions:

1) Install included NVDriver.kext, NVidia.kext, NVinjectGo.kext using kext helper. Remove IONDRVSupport.kext from /System/Library/Extensions folder. Reboot and open System Preferences panel. Now you can choose your correct screen resolution.

2) Install included AppleACPIPlatform.kext, AppleAPIC.kext using kext helper. Reboot. Now you have your shiny Wifi working!
