i still cant boot into mAc os x.. i use EasyBCD, so when i turn on my computer, the first thing i see is the vista boot manager, then i select MAC OS X.. then it goes into darwin boot, then i get to choose between vista, mac os x, and the recovery partition.. so i select mac os x again.. then what happens next is the setup thing where lots of numbers and words fill up the screen loading things.. and then after a few seconds, the laptop just restarts.. any ideas?

EDIT: found this

up on youtube, and it's exactly the same problem i have.. so please take a look if you guys have time.. thanks!

EDIT: I also found this in the Leo4all Community site, in the "Known Issues" page..

"My system reboots right after EFI is initialized

Some computers are just not able to run Leopard properly, this is mainly due to incompatibilities between the BIOS and Leopards ACPI platform. You can try a different BIOS revision, maybe you find one that works. Some people have success booting with cpus=1 bootflag at Darwin."

i think this is my problem, not sure but i think i see a "ACPI" right at the end of the loading thing in darwin boot.. i dont get the "cpus=1 bootflag at Darwin".. where do i type that? and what exactly do i type? thanks.. <_<

You see in the video where he types "-v"? That's where you would type "cpus=1". Give it a try and see how that goes, other than that or the "-legacy" flag I am at a complete loss. Sorry...

P.S. I am very excited about the prospect of QE/CI with an ATI Driver of all things!!! I can't wait to see how it was done.

What i wonder is, that 50% of the new guys are crying about that graphic card is not working!

But in my sig and in wyzazz are two bundles which will enables the graphic card (except of QE/CI)... So maybe reading would also be very helpful...

I'll second that, if you don't have the patience to read this thread through, you won't have the patience to get OSX actually up and running on your lappy. All the information is here, just read it. If there is something you dont' understand, if you have issues with something or a wierd problem, if you have something to contribute, etc... ...then post and ask.

Also, Leo4Allv2 is the disc we use to install OSX on the tx1000/2000 series laptops. Until something better/more compatible comes out, that's what I'll be using.

Sorry for venting all, just getting tired of seeing the same things over and over.

that's pretty good news about the accelleration drivers, americanyellow, do you happen to know if these drivers enable all functions such as rotation and multiple monitors? or is it just CI/QE. one of the things stopping me using leo on my tx1250 atm is the lack of screen rotation. also, i've been trying repeatedly to get throttling working to try and solve the heat issues, has anyone had ANY luck with this? this lappy seems VERY fussy about which kernel it'll boot with. or could this be another ACPI issue?

regards,

Marc

Managed to get Leopard working again, thanks in part to this guide, and a lot of spare time. Looks like I got it working at just the right time! QE/CI support on the way!

Two things I noticed in my experiments. Leo4All is the only version that has the issue where you have to hit the power button to get it to boot. Upchuck 10.4.8 and Zepyroth's 10.5.2 boot fine, but dont run as good, but 10.4.8 doesnt run after install. Zep's runs with audio out of the box, very good touch screen calibration, but no wifi. I couldnt test any more, because after initial setup it wouldnt boot back up. (hfs+ error again) What files deal with the OSX boot sequence and the tablet info? I think those should be taken from Zep's and tried in Leo4All.

Oh, one more thing. the 10.4.8 install disk properly recognized this laptop as an HP tx2110us in "About This Mac". Weird, no? Any way we could replicate that?

Hi guys

Were we able to resolve the "sleep" issue where leopard doesn't wake up after going to sleep? I have tx1000 with leo4allv2. Thanks for all your help.

@Mass-Face

Once you enable QE/CI screen rotation should be available. There is a hotkey combo you hit to get it going, but the functionality requires QE/CI support.

This is however, just what I've read.

I am starting to get annoyed with this guy. Had hasn't posted the dang drivers yet.

@Mass-Face

The rotation works with QE/CI, though it did see it tend to crash the system.

Yes, yes I am waiting (like I am sure everyone is) with baited breath for the QE/CI....

Was there a solution for battery boot?

I said it before and I'll say it again. If anyone knows how to create an OSX disk or knows of some information I will attempt to create one for our needs with all of the hacks/pieces from other disks that work.

Well, here it is...

Links to some tutorials on how to modifiy install DVDs containts and create a new one to fit your needs:

Now... I'm sure I recently found a way better/easier tutorial. Sadly, it is no more on Safari's history.

If I remember where it was, I'll post it.

Cheers!

Well, I found it!

This example is about injecting Medevil's Nforce driver to an OSX DVD. But it may work for any kind of kexts desired (i guess).

So, good luck with the building of your very own OSX install disc!

I got qe/ci working!

I only used love, care, hope, God's will and a different machine

j/k, put leo on my desktop... aching all the worst for it on the laptop now

@AmericanYellow

So... you at least know if he made the nvinject (or any) kexts talk to 9800/ati in parts relevant to hw acceleration, or made the 9800 driver look at the 6150 as its own?

Kudos:)

i just cant get it to work on me.. it just reboots everytime i try to boot into Mac..

i tried using "cpus=1" but it just restarts the darwin bootloader, like how the guy in the video link i posted was doing usng "-v".. havent tried "-legacy" though.. what's that for?

@sicgamer19

"-legacy" forces the system to boot using generic, or "legacy" drivers (afaik)

also try messing around with the acpi flags

@all

just made my desktop 100% macomatible:D

is that any good to anyone for any test?

everything's working well here, is there such a thing as a free leopard sdk/ddk+development environment?

@AmericanYellow

how stable is your friends machine?

@all#2

sorry for all the promises to research stuff etc., mastering a whole new os i never touched before turned out to be less intuitive than predicted, d'oh!

(still way more intuitive than windows though:P)

Well, I'm not sure about its cost, but I'm sure you can get XCode in some bay... er... I mean someway! if you want to develope software for mac.Also, now that you have everything perfect including QE/CI, maybe you could share the specs of your desktop, don't you?I'm wondering... does your system is able to run Photobooth, iMovie, FrontRow?
Well it looks more and more like QE/CI is out of reach...too bad.
I think its an assignment that may be matter of months just to see any advance...Its better that we don't fall into desperation dude!Anyway, I'm sure most of us will get a real Mac when we have the chance, don't you?

@...TheOne...

It's a 3ghz pentium d (t2040 i think) on the intel el cheapo beasto motherboard (ich mb drivers are meant for intel mb's, installed that) 1.5gb ddr2 667 ram...

Lol i could'nt get pci to work on the board, or, like, anything...

Using pci-e 7300le for graphics, generic usb sound adapter (had the thing lying around since 1998), zydas usb wifi...

It's not that everything works hardware wise, i took the Apple approach and worked around the trouble:P

And yeah, photoshop runs like a beaut... strokes still lag when drawn but only by a fraction of a second.

Gonna hook up my Graphire4 to it next n' see how that goes:)

Actually i have no reason to think anything will not work!

(kept 9.22 kernel when upgraded to 10.5.3)

@Alex DeWolf

Why do you say that man?

For me seeing American Yellow post is reassurance enough for the while:)

The dude said something about having a hard time posting circa page 21 of this thread didn't he?
