@sicgamer

AFAIK it performs just like it does in windows with the exception of the calibration. I will see if I can get that software downloaded/or found tomorrow and see how it runs.

No luck with ATI Drivers yet...

thanks!

looks like those drivers are gonna take a while though..

Hey

Been trying a few apps...

Graphics apps (photoshop, autodesk sketchbook) seem to work, but paiting itself seems to be hardware accelerated as each stroke (wheather by mouse or wacom) takes a few seconds to appear on screen.

Bottom line: unusable.

Office 2k8 seems to run fine as wyzazz pointed out, but virtualization software makes it sick.

I'm out, until American Yellow is back with his school mates' magic drivers:P

/me hopes he has'nt traded them in for magic beans

p.s

best i could make the cam do is spit a couple of images out then crash with either the ice driver or the other driver that's not macam...

I wonder if the ATI driver hacking was a figment of our imagination

lol.. hope not..

@Duperman, wyzazz (oh, "wyzazz".. its just now that i got it hahaha)

i thought something like that would be a problem.. well, i guess no painting in mac for now.. thanks for answering.. :(

no real problem for me though, i'm not even really too much of a mac fan.. i just want to install so that i get to use it once in a while, and sort of get used to using both both mac and windows.. since we use mostly macs at school..

@sicgamer

Yeah, it's an old Marine Corps nickname that just kind of stuck.

I run OSX strictly because I want to know what's out there, and how to use it. I've got Linux down fairly well, and Windows 2003 Server is my primary OS.

Hp just released the tx2500. They have ATI graphics and the new AMD Puma CPUs. Is it easier to get QE/CI working on ati graphics? The tx2500 has ATI HD 3200, i think it's still shared but im not sure. I guess it's time to add another tx to the thread...

Sounds like a sweet lappy, however it also sounds like it could bring some more issues to the table if HP changed too much of the hardware...

Someone tried this here:

It is for a DELL but maybe the fingerprint will work on the HP too...

List of compatible: http://www.neurotechnologija.com/scanners.html

Ehhh, I think the fingerprint scanner is worthless (no offense intended) on this lappy. It takes me way less time to type my 14 charachter password in than to scan my finger the umpteen times it takes to get a proper read. Good find though...

Or if they still have the broken BIOS (APIC) causing the boot with battery issue and sound/WIFI

Hello Everyone

I am new to the forums but not new to the struggle with OSX on non-apple hardware. I would like to first say that everything done here is GREAT work, and I would have never figured out some of this on my own.

I had an Acer laptop w/ an x1100 card in it, and got nowhere with that(graphics related). I just got a new tx2110us, and am currently following the guid @ the HCL page, except I am not downgrading the bios yet, I would like to try something related to this post. I have a couple ideas, if one works, I will gladly share.

As far as the graphics support, has anyone tried looking into anything from FreeBSD? I think something found there would help in OSX a little more than from a Linux distro. As far as ATI having working drivers, I think that is because ATI has open source drivers, and nVidia does not.

Anyway, thank you for everything so far, and will post back with my resaults. Anything I can bring to the table to get things working, I gladly will.

Hi folks!

@wyzazz: Does the time fix on your sign works? Could you explain me how to install it?

I don't get where the /sbin/ folder is... Is there any other thing to do after placing the files on their locations?

And one more, I have a triple boot with xp, ubuntu hardy and leopard, this should work the same no matter theres a third OS in here, right?

Edit:

Nevermind! I used InVisibles and I found sbin folder instantly! thanks anyway ... lol :thumbsdown_anim:

Hi there,

I have tx2000z and I have been working for last 3 days with the guidance of this forum. now I am posting back with results and some plans (More like ideas..).

Not working - Tablet calibration, WiFi, Sound worked in osx after downgrading the bios but I lost sound in Vista, Clock, webcam.

Rest of the stuff works but screen is flickery and freezing some times - esp when downloading something from net.

For the Ideas part - I tried to look up regarding this active dizitizer/Wacom tablet. This is actually the same thing they have in ModBook. I tried installing the tablet drivers for modbook but when you click on tablet properties it is saying 'can not find the appropriate tablet hardware'. I think we need some other drivers to run the tablet - may be we should get a dump from Modbook or atleast see how they are using this Wacom tablet. Hopefully some one here can work on this plan.

Thanks to all of the people here - good job and keep it up. I will be posting more if anything changes.

Trg.

@TheOne

Yep, you got it, you either need to copy via the command line or use Invisibles to find the sbin folder. As for it working on a Triple Boot system, I can't say for sure if it would work, I only Dual Boot.

Alright, I have everything working except Sound (downgrading bios as i post) touch screen calibration, and obviously qe/ci. Havent had a chance to look into the FreeBSD driver idea yet, but that will probably be started tonight.

@wyzazz I tried the dual boot time fix in your sig, and it doesnt appear to have worked. I'm going to reinstall it after I downgrade my bios, but that shouldnt affect it, should it?

Nope, that shouldn't effect it. Just make sure your BIOS is set to the correct time, and don't let OSX go out over the internet to set it's time. It seems to be working OK for me over here.

Everything seems to be working great, I am at the same point most of you guys are. A couple questions though.

What audio kext's are the ones that let you use the audio control buttons to adjust sound? And when you guys look in the System Profiler under graphics, does it recognise your video card correctly? Mine shows up with all the correct information, and it says CI is Software, and QE is not supported. Does it look like this for anyone else?

i just installed leo4all v2 on my tx2120us, but i cant boot into mac, it says i need my windows installation disc..

it says there is a missing/corrupt file,

file: \NST\nst_mac.mbr

It sounds like you need to repair the Vista Master Boot Record. If thats the case then this should help. Then download EasyBCD, and install it in vista, and add OSX as a boot option.

Or, if you want to use the Darwin Bootloader, check this out.

Hope this helps.
