NUCLEaR
It's kinda annoying having an AMD processor on these forums, since most releases are Intel. To make stuff easier for newbies and pros alike, I suggest you make AMD and Intel subforums on release threads, in the OSX86 Installation forum. This makes it easier to locate AMD releases, and help people with AMD comps. This also eliminates the need for "this supports amd? thx". ~NUCLEaR

Sabr
What happens when stuff is released for AMD + Intel? Is it posted twice in two forums?
NUCLEaR
more like universal i guess.

Sabr
Hmm, I'm not sure. Sounds like it would be complicated... Colonel - change your sig - the image is way too big.
NUCLEaR
we separated into leopard and tiger, and it wasn't that hard. people just need to post in the right sections. if not, a mod can move the topic.
apowerr
I like the idea, but things could get too complicated as Sabr has noted. Maybe make 'AMD' a subforum of the Leopard subforum? Intel is getting all the love and will continue to do so.
NUCLEaR
Tiger is in the past now, so Leopard should get more attention, and adding an AMD forum to Leopard's forum is a good start. If things work out, tiger could get a revival.
(MoC)
Yeah, this could work..... AMD releases are important to me too. Count me in the support!!!!

lord_muad_dib
being an amd fanboy myself.. would be nice to see something like that. but.. but.. think on that.. what changes between an intel and an amd release... is just a couple of files decrypted or patched... other than that it's all identical! and then it's just about driver hunting.. just like it happens for intel(not to mention that several kext DO actually work on both worlds) so it's kinda pointless in my PoV

NUCLEaR
well some people have no idea how to decrypt the files, and don't have an intel computer (me) and some just want a quick place to check on what builds are AMD and what builds are Intel. It's not pointless.
Sabr
But most (if not ALL) builds specify what platform they will work on anyway (before you download them).
Mebster
What if we created an AMD subforum within the Leopard subforum without creating an AMD one too? That way people who in particular wanted to post about AMDs could go there and post or not. Think that would be less complicating there would be no need to split it all up into to. NUCLEaR
that was pretty much what i had in mind. too +1 as well. and not all releases say [iNTEL] in front of the post. they just say the name of the guy who created it, and the version. only some say intel or amd only. That I Would Have To Disagree With You on. Every build that i have seen always says [iNTEL SEE2 SEE3] Or [AMD SEE2 SEE3] On It But I Still Love The Idea
