Guys why are you posting in the wrong thread?

This thread isn't for nVidia or ATI drivers, it's for Intel 830M/845G/852GM/855GM/865G Chipsets

Ontopic - Has anyone gotten this to work on 10.4.6 or later?

I have an 855GM (Dell 700m) - the OS runs fine but the resolutions is wrong.

Hi there,

must say even in emul mode the video is very fast unless watchiung movies... :D

is it possible to extract the 830 files from JaS' 10.4.6 installer dvd? The one with 10.4.6 as an install option?

I see the mkext file on the DVD but not sure how to do it... is it there?

Also does anyone have working power management? I get 1 hour from my battery.

Will keep looking though it's been a few days of unguided searching :D

Thanks to all for the parallel mac community LOL

Apple should just sell the damn thing as retail.

Hi guys, I tried and got the below when trying to load the Integrated on m5 855.. intel830 loads ok but no effect still "No KEXTs loaded" in diagnostics

21AppleIntelFramebuffer is not compatible with its superclass, 13IOFramebuffer superclass changed?

kextload: a link/load error occured for kernel extension AppleIntelIntegratedGraphics.kext

load failed for extension AppleIntelIntegratedGraphics.kext

(run kextload with -t for diagnostic output)

but this folder where? in the install dvd or in my hardisk? cause in the hardisk i don't found nothing

The "915" files should be in the /System/Library/Extensions folder on your OSX partition with all other drivers.

If not there, you can get them from the install DVD. Go to the DVD and look for the folder /System/Installation/Packages. Then look for a package named something like GMA900. If not there, then look for a package called Essentials.pkg

Download and run Paciifist and use that to extract/install the "915" files.

rammjet , the 830 files are for the 915 too?

one more thing, i don't use the appleintelintegratedgraphics file, i used appleintegratedframebuffer and it works right.

is any diference?

other thing is the problem of the screensavers, it goes slowly, what can i do?

thanks

The 830 files are old and from 10.4.1 and are no longer used in OSX. I'm not very sure they would work on current versions of OSX. This thread is very old.

But if you modified the framebuffer and got full resolution, could you list what you did or what posting gives the instructions?

  • 2 months later...

I have a Inspirion 700m with a Intel 855GM Integrated GFX card. I am using Jas 10.4.8 AMD INTEL sse2 sse3 OS X. I have done everything that was mentioned in the beginning post. I found the AppleIntel830.kext and the AppleIntelIntegratedGraphics.kext I coppied them both to /system/library/extensions and modified them like the guide said with the correct Device ID Number. I ran the following commands in terminal.

sudo chmod -R 755 AppleIntel*

sudo chown -R root:wheel AppleIntel*

I restarted the computer and upon reboot I received a message that the driver file could not be loaded (2 messages actually, one for each of the files)

The video is still 1024 X 768 and stretched

Can someone tell me If this method will work for my setup, If so what am I doing wrong. I admit I am a MAC NOOB but very technically literate. Please Respond !

NOTE* There are no other AppleIntel* files in the extensions directory except for these two.

This wont work on your version of osx. It's only good for 10.3 and below. Check out this thread, we are working on it:

This is site is great! Pavilion 513n Running OS X 10.4.8!!! Sound and Ethernet! Sharing Files with XP & Vista! :)

The only problem I'm having is with the Graphics card. I have a Intel 845G Onboard Graphics Chip. Tried using the four files. Edit the two files using TextEdit. Device ID is 0x2562 for graphics, so I set it up for 0x25628086. Is this correct? And then I run the "sudo chmod -R 755" and "sudo chown -R root:wheel" in folder "/system/library/extesions/" with the two .kext files. Rebooted the system and have the same drivers for graphics(NO CHANGE). Where can I find the file "appleintelli915.kext"?

Please help, no other problem with system.

Thanks

:rolleyes:Found the info I needed on this page but it did not help me. :(

Have the same problem. Copy the "915" file to the "830" file. Changed "Device ID" in both of the correct files and did the 2 "sudo" commands to both files. The System Profiler still reads as "Kernel Extension Info: No Kext Loaded"; "Type: Display". Any more options out there for me? I think I was the last comment that was posted. My info is on that post.

This has been said before in this thread a billion times.

In a nutshell, there are no drivers for 845/855GME chipsets anymore. The only driver that ever partially worked came from 10.4.1, and only works with 10.4.1. Nobody is working on a new driver.

DEAL WITH IT

Question...

I got a Intel® 82865G Graphics Controller on one of my old machines (Dell Dimension 1100) and I tried installing Jas's Mac OS X 10.4.8

only the graphics are all screwed grey-ish and It's almost impossible to read anything..

did anyone try installing x86 on a machine running Intel® 82865G Graphics??

thanks.
