Computer Type: PC

Mobo: Intel DG33FB

Sound Card Vendor: Realtek

Sound Card Model: ALC888

Vendor Id: 0x10ec0888

Working: Internal Speakers, Mic (But only after adding dev ids to ALCinject and AppleHDA Info.plist)

Not Working: Line in, Headphones, Front Mic

Patcher Version used: 1.1.6

System Version: Tiger 10.4.10

obs: Using Leopard now (vanilla kernel,EFI,10.5.1) but using old kexts for sound.

Correction: With Patcher 1.18, Line-In and Headphones work. Front Mic still does not work.

Edit: With version 1.20, I get Internal Speakers & Line Out as output. Headphones are gone. For Input I get only Line in and Internal Microphone. Looks like my PC has become a laptop, lol.

Patcher Version used: 1.17

A codec dump is attached (I made it with suse 10.3), and thanks to Taruga for all his hard work. Also, I read on a linux site today that the aluminum imac uses this sound card also.

Computer Type: Laptop (Gateway CX210X Tablet PC)

Sound Card Vendor: Sigmatel

Sound Card Model: STAC 9250

Vendor Id: 0x83847634

Working: Internal Speakers, Headphone Jack

Not Working: Internal Microphone, External Microphone

Patcher Version used: 1.16

System Version: Leopard 10.5.1

obs: http://psykopat.free.fr/apple/AppleHDA/ - Sigmatel 9250 codec was used from here. Version 1.17 and above do not work on my 10.5.1 system. 17-19 will supposedly implement a card that isn't listed as "Sigmatel 7634" like version 1.16, and 1.20 doesn't accept any information at all.

Computer Type: Laptop - Dell Latitude D820

Sound Card Vendor: SigmaTel

Sound Card Model: STAC9200

Vendor Id: 0x83847690

Working: Everything

Patcher Version used: 1.20

System Version: Leo 10.5.1

My only problem is after sound is patched (I tried different patcher versions 1.12-1.19 as well) and I cannot complete a shutdown. The screen goes black, but the power stays on. I need to power off the laptop by holding the power button.

If I replace AppleHDA.kext with the original Leopard version - laptop shuts down fine. I even tried my working kext from 10.4.11 and same problem.

Computer Type: Laptop

Sound Card Vendor: Realtek

Sound Card Model: ALC883

Vendor Id: 0x10ec0883

Working: Nothing

Not Working: Mic, Headphones, Speakers, SPDIFF

Patcher Version used: 1.20

System Version: Leopard 1.5

obs: The patcher told me it was succesfull, everything is detected and I can see all the correct outputs and inputs in the System Preferences, there just isn't any sound.

The red light in the SPDIFF connector does light up, which it didn't do before I ran the patcher, but also no sound is coming from it. (tested it with my Harman Kardon receiver..)

I attached the codec dump made using Knoppix to my post, is it correct that I have two codecs files in /proc/asound/card0? One is about the ALC883 card (which I dumped in the patcher) and another one has only a few lines in it. Do I need to do something with the other one? (I attached that one as well..)

Are you saying that you can get the mic, mute and jack out to work? I got sound with the internal speakers but that's it.I am having the same problem with the shutdown.

Which linux dump and patcher did you use? I only get sound out of my internal speakers...not getting mic or line out, or mute.I have a dell e1505 with the same card.

I have the same set-up as you. I'm using a USB Headphone/Mic Adaptor, works great to get sound out, mic in working for now.

Here is a link to what I'm using. It's Plug-n-play, works great!
