Computer Type: PC Abit IP35 Pro

Sound Card Vendor: Realtek

Sound Card Model: ALC888

Vendor Id: 0x10ec0888

Working: Left and right speakers

Not Working: Headphones (though it may not be internally connected - I've not tested it before). 5.1 output via jacks, not SPDIF(according to Audio MIDI Setup)

Other ports not tested due to lack of mic & SPDIF equipment.

Patcher Version used: 1.1.9

System Version: 10.5.1

Shows Internal mic, Line in and Digital in Sound panel Input. Shows Line Out, Headphones, Digital Out in Output.

As an observation, I spend ages launching the app then dragging the dump to the app in the dock. I think it's worth clarifying the main post exactly what to do for dozy clots like me. Maybe in bold. :)

Codec dump from Ubuntu 7.10 live CD attached. (codec not present in Knoppix - old ALSA version?)

Thanks for all the hard work on this Taruga, you're a star - nice turtle too :hysterical:

Computer Type: PC (Asrock ConRoe 945g-dvi)

Sound Card Vendor: Realtek

Sound Card Model: ALC888 (ICH7)

Vendor Id: 0x10ec0888

Working: Nothing

Not Working: ...

Patcher Version used: 1.20

System Version: Leopard 10.5.1

obs: 1.20 patcher applies correctly, reports several output and input devices which is pretty cool but fails to output any sound from any of those. Tried every ALC888 available codec and got the same result.

Computer Type: PC (Intel D945GCL)

Sound Card Vendor: Sigmatel

Sound Card Model: 9220

Vendor Id: 0x83847680 (revision 1036)

Working: Nothing

Not Working: Mic, Headphones, Line out, Line in

Patcher Version used: 1.16

System Version: Tiger 4.11

obs: The system boots normally and the "Line Out" option shows in the preferences pane, however, I cannot get any sound come from the motherboard, and I cannot record any sound either. I've tried all the connectors and I only get silence.

I have a codec dump and here it is

Computer Type: PCSound Card Vendor: Intel HDASound Card Model: SigmaTel STAC9221 A1 (it is labeled as Sigmatel 9220)

Vendor Id: 0x83847680

Not Working: Everything

Patcher Version used: 1.1.8

System Version: Leopard 5.1 (ToH 9.1 kernel).

I just wanto to point out that AppleHDAPatcher has never (ever) worked for me, tried every single version, several different dumps. Not even with Tiger.

leopard 10.5 patch v1.18

Maybe 9221 is different to 9220/9223, according to this file http://www.sigmatel.com/documents/STAC9220-9221-pb-0-8.pdf

And I have read and try several Info.plist, they are not a real 9221 driver

only internal mic and speaker item, no sound

Computer Type: PC Desktop (Tower)

Soundcard Vendor: Sigmatel

Soundcard Model: STAC9271D

Vendor Id: 0x83847627

Working: Everything is working with sound out

Not Working: Can´t test Mic as i have no microphone. I saw signal there. No sliders for Mic.

Patcher Version Used: Kext install with the files from here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...st&id=18344

and then the kext helper v0.7

System Version: JaS 10.4.8 updated to 10.4.10 with Koolkal´s comboupdate. Using the SMBIOS.kext 1.0.1 from Hackint0sh.org team

Obs: Internal Speaker should be called Mic. I do of course not know how it should look with all features. Maybe there should also be slider for Mic gain and input?

I can confirm it works on Intel DG33TL board with 10.4.10.

Kext helper is here:

Sound Card Model: Stac 9225

Vendor Id: 0x83847661

Working: Internal speakers, headphone jack, SPDIF (docking)

Not Working: stereo jack (dock) Internal Mic, Mic-jack

Patcher Version used: 1.2.0

System Version: Leopard 10.5.1

obs:

- OSX finds a mic, but none of them are working correctly --> I steel need to try it out in linux

- I'll still have to try with Leo & a newer version

- I have to manually select the destination of the sound (spdif, internal speakers or jack) is this normal ? didn't have to do it in XP, in Vista I only have to select SPDIF or all others together. if i unplug my headphone then my internal speakers work automatically

- dump was created in ubuntu 6.x, I might want to try a newer linux version

extra:

attached codec dump gives support for spdif via the docking station where other dumps didn't for me
