MegaMACOSX
I downloaded the 3.35GB .iso read the Release notes. For some reason, it says that this image is part of the Leopard Developers Preview. Is this the GM version that all of us are using or is it some prerelease software thats been out way before the GM was even released? When downloading the torrent, there were 71 files that were stored in a folder named "Documents." Upon extracting the .iso, the DVD was a whopping 4.7GB disk. Please let me if this is what everybody is using ASAP. Thanks. MegaMACOSX
Cgsheen, it works. MY COMBO WORKS! Thank you very much. Now, do we all have the correct DVD media that Zeyphox (sorry) told us about? Please read my previous post. Thanks. Oh {censored}, I didn't realize that. This whole time I've been using PS/2. But wait...the manual specifically says PC notebooks. Let me still check and see if my combo works with one USB. One time, I told one of my cousins not to buy this combo for his notebook, because it was designed for Desktops (via USB for Keyboard and PS/2 for mouse). Looks like thats not the case either. Thanks a lot man. This really does save a lot. :-) "I feel very embarrased now." Ah well, thanks a lot. Now lets Install this NOW!. Jammerpa
Okay, well I seem to be stuck here... Every time I try Zephyroths (Or Tubgirls) image on my machine i get: SAM Multimedia: read or write failed, SENSE_KEY = 0x04, ASC =0x08, ASCQ=0x03 about 5 times and then: Still waiting for root device And yes, I know that it usually have something to do with a badly written DVD, but have tried everything, 3 different programs, and 7 dvds at different speeds and all have failed at the same step. The weird thing is, that if I try to use it in VmWare, it seems to get further than when i run it natively on my machine... Could someone please help me in the right direction? I used DVD Decrypter v 3.5.4 and burned at 2x speed. Do a search on it and i'm sure you'll find it. Carpet
Its a shame they don't split this leopard forum into 2 forums, one for Intel and one for AMD with a dedicated mod who will sticky things and allow for a FAQ or something. A great alternative to this problem, however, is the 10.5.1 Leopard AMD Wiki and Private forums. MegaMACOSX
That was the torrent file (Name: Mac_OS_X_Leopard_10.5.1_for_AMD_SSE2_SSE3_(32bits).3909828.TPB). After downloading, there was a Documents folder with 72 .zip/.rar files, and I had to extract the main file in order to compile the .iso. The .iso name is: Leopard-AMD-10.5.1 If this is not the right one, can you please PM me the link. Thanks. Zephyroth's original .iso is named "Mac_OS_X_Leopard_10.5.1_for_AMD SSE2/SSE3 (32bits)"... GingerTea
As I said, InsanelyMac doesn't like torrent related talk, and yes, you have the right release. Just in case you didn't know: Open Terminal, type: md5, then drag & drop the .iso into Terminal, hit enter, wait a while, and what you are going to see is the md5 hash. Compare the Official MD5 Hash with your image. 9722c600e6fa70c668e2523ef92cc1b4 This should be the proper one, unless I modified the classic Rev.1 Image without noticing Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/86/#findComment-600853 Share on other sites
MegaMACOSX
Okay thanks, I'll check that out. The reason why I was worried was when I read the release notes, it stated that this was part of Leopard Developer Preview. If this is the case with all of you, then I should be fine. Now time to avoid another error where my disc failed to copy the files to the volume (could be because I need to format my hard drive). GingerTea
Taisto, Post your questions here: http://osx.kbot.de Also, that's not a lot of information. The Cat
Thx zephyroth. Allthough some more language files would be appriciated . The install was almost perfectly. It only removed an NTFS partition on the harddisk when I tried to format the first partition of the drive and it gave an error (sorry should have remembered the error) and cleared the whole MBR. But after undeleting that NTFS partition again and repeat the process with an other format command it all worked. Only the network does not work yet. But already read some post about the DHCP server problem. Will try that out.
