paulanca
There's your problem - the 690/SB600 chipset...There's no built in support. You'll have to install to an external hard drive like "Dirk Gently" Thx you so much for the help and the info, but i tryed to install on a exHD a western digital 80 gb, but i cant even star the instalation, it frezzes while darwing is botting, sometimes core error, sometimes hard disk, sometimes just frezze (this happens while trying to install in inHD or exHD is the same) I suceffully instaled the flat image on the external hard drive, but i wasnt able to boot from my notebook, but the one of my sister did (fu*** sister) jeje but she has another notebook (i guest is an msi vr600 or something like that) Anyway thx you so much again for the help and the info ill keep trying to find a solution or wait until someone release a dvd suitable for my notebook je Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/87/#findComment-601204 Share on other sites

Fesob
Have you tried the attached kext?IOUSBFamily.kext.zip ( 1.21MB ) Number of downloads: 245 I've tried this kext and the PCGenUSBEHCI_303.4.5.kext too. No way. Without these kexts i can't boot when i have "usb 2.0 support: enabled" in bios; i have to turn it off so the OS can boot. When i install IOUSBFamily.kext i can boot with usb 2.0 support enabled in bios but usb devices won't work I can't understand what's PCGenUSBEHCI_303.4.5.kext doing, but it doesn't seem to change results This is my kextstat and dmesg | grep -i USB P.S.: Hey 939NF6G-VSTA users, if any , have you got usb 2.0 working?! kextstat___dmesg___grep__i_USB.rtf Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/87/#findComment-601609 Share on other sites
cowax
help me guys, been trying this for many weeks now.... My Rig. AMD athlon 64 3200+ MSI - 7191 with ATI Raedon xpress 200 1Gb Ram 250 GB SATA HDD 40 GB IDE HDD DVD RW IDE drive been reading the forums for a while now and toying with zephyroths rev1 dvd, i get stuck at BSD Root Device - Disk1s3 major 14 minor 4 , after which the pc restarts. I've tried all ide, master slave combinations for the dvd drive and the HDD, tried with the Sata drive aswell. also i dont understand how the error says disk1s3, as it has no partitions and is 40gb unallocated space. sometimes i get to a point where the bootloader tells me ....boot.plist not found. i know its something to do with the HDD, its not getting detected...where am i going wrong ? MegaMACOSX
I was able to successfully install AMD Leopard on my system with all bells, whistles, sounds, internet, graphics etc. However, I am only able to boot into the Operating System if I leave my OS Installation Disk in my DVD drive. Is there anybody that can suggest to me what I should do. I would greatly appreciate that. Thank you. Also, the grey screen with the operating system loading does not show. Is this because of the disc in my DVD drive, since it is booting off that? If I was to take out the Disc, the post I would receive is "Boot from CD" with no nothing further after that. Lastly, I tried to change the boot order with Hard Disk first, however, that did not resolve the problem. Please let me know then, thanks. Note: I tried GUID initially, and got a .lst error, so later I tried MBR, and it booted just fine, however, only when the DVD was left in the DVD Drive. Did you installed succesfully but it does not start after reboot?.Maybe your HDD is not bootable... MegaMACOSX
It only starts after reboot if I leave the DVD in the disc tray. Then the DVD detects my HDD and boots into the O/S. My hard drive is bootable, but may be Leopard is detecting it as something else. I thought the AMD install was suppose to be simpler. I installed the NVIDIA 8800 drivers as well even though I use a 6600GT. I don't think it has anything to do with my video cards. I can't even see the grey screen with the apple. What do you think I should. Thanks. Did you installed succesfully but it does not start after reboot?.Maybe your HDD is not bootable...
