I downloaded the 3.35GB .iso read the Release notes. For some reason, it says that this image is part of the Leopard Developers Preview. Is this the GM version that all of us are using or is it some prerelease software thats been out way before the GM was even released? When downloading the torrent, there were 71 files that were stored in a folder named "Documents." Upon extracting the .iso, the DVD was a whopping 4.7GB disk. Please let me if this is what everybody is using ASAP. Thanks.

Cgsheen, it works. MY COMBO WORKS! Thank you very much. Now, do we all have the correct DVD media that Zeyphox (sorry) told us about? Please read my previous post. Thanks.

Oh {censored}, I didn't realize that. This whole time I've been using PS/2. But wait...the manual specifically says PC notebooks. Let me still check and see if my combo works with one USB. One time, I told one of my cousins not to buy this combo for his notebook, because it was designed for Desktops (via USB for Keyboard and PS/2 for mouse). Looks like thats not the case either. Thanks a lot man. This really does save a lot. :-) "I feel very embarrased now." Ah well, thanks a lot. Now lets Install this NOW!. :P:P

Zephyroth's original appears as "Mac_OS_X_Leopard_10.5.1_for_AMD SSE2/SSE3 (32bits)"...

Okay, well I seem to be stuck here...

Every time I try Zephyroths (Or Tubgirls) image on my machine i get:

SAM Multimedia: read or write failed, SENSE_KEY = 0x04, ASC =0x08, ASCQ=0x03

about 5 times and then:

Still waiting for root device

And yes, I know that it usually have something to do with a badly written DVD, but have tried everything, 3 different programs, and 7 dvds at different speeds and all have failed at the same step.

The weird thing is, that if I try to use it in VmWare, it seems to get further than when i run it natively on my machine...

Could someone please help me in the right direction?

I used DVD Decrypter v 3.5.4 and burned at 2x speed. Do a search on it and i'm sure you'll find it.

ok, new problem.... ;)

i solve the problem of the account creation with this steps from buckhole:

Start your pc and press F8, here ask to start in single user mode :

to do that, write >-s and press enter

Your osx start in console mode.

Here, start to check hard drive >/sbin/fsck -fy and press enter

Osx scan you pc and does to answer you : File system was modified.

After we does to mount all drives >/sbin/mount -uw / and press enter ; Dont forget the "/" it ask to mount all drives

Them, now we does to active and creat password for the root account >passwd root

The system ask for a new pass : enter it and confirm an other time when asking (press enter each time).

Now we does to do something to notify to osx that we have end the Setup. >touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone and press enter (Don't forget the "." before Apple).

And now you could restart >reboot and press enter

Now don't touch anything, osx boot and ask you to log in wink_anim.gif

Enter : log : root

and the pass you have choose before.

but now when i log in with my user and pass or root user, Leopard shows me the Desktop, the dock and then it goes a black screen and then display again the login window and then it freezes there...

anyone had this problem ?

Thanks

I have the same problem. I posted a separate thread for it since this thread is so long and has so many other problems and answers jumbled together in it. Have you figured out the issue yet? I can't seem to get anything to work. :P

I just tried installin on a brand new Maxtor 320gb PATA drive on ECS 7050M-M MB and I get stuck at the "Select a Destination' screen. There is no choice of drive to install. What do I need to do?

Same problem i have. there are no drivers for your the ata on this dvd. im guessing you are a ati chipset?

"Maybe" you should look for some support for your mobo. Posting your spec will help other people to help you. Make some little research too...

Its a shame they don't split this leopard forum into 2 forums, one for Intel and one for AMD with a dedicated mod who will sticky things and allow for a FAQ or something. A great alternative to this problem, however, is the 10.5.1 Leopard AMD Wiki and Private forums. Check the wiki below for solutions to most known issues

You need to go into DiskUtility and format the drive using HFS+ journaled.

People, actually most questions are very commonly asked.

Also, once again, here's the Link to Zephyroth's Official Forums. Post your questions there!

MegaMACOSX: Actually InsanelyMac doesn't like to see any torrent/iso related talk,

but you've most likely downloaded the proper Release, yes...

lanxxx: RC2 is about to be completed, final tests and implementations are being processed by zeph

That was the torrent file (Name: Mac_OS_X_Leopard_10.5.1_for_AMD_SSE2_SSE3_(32bits).3909828.TPB). After downloading, there was a Documents folder with 72 .zip/.rar files, and I had to extract the main file in order to compile the .iso. The .iso name is: Leopard-AMD-10.5.1 If this is not the right one, can you please PM me the link. Thanks.

Zephyroth's original .iso is named "Mac_OS_X_Leopard_10.5.1_for_AMD SSE2/SSE3 (32bits)"... Is that what you D/L'd.

As I said, InsanelyMac doesn't like torrent related talk, and yes, you have the right release.

Just in case you didn't know:

Open Terminal, type: md5, then drag & drop the .iso into Terminal, hit enter,

wait a while, and what you are going to see is the md5 hash.

Compare the Official MD5 Hash with your image.

This should be the proper one, unless I modified the classic Rev.1 Image without noticing

Okay thanks, I'll check that out. The reason why I was worried was when I read the release notes, it stated that this was part of Leopard Developer Preview. If this is the case with all of you, then I should be fine. Now time to avoid another error where my disc failed to copy the files to the volume (could be because I need to format my hard drive).

Tried it, and cannot install it  My Installer cant see my hdd. I`m using BenQ P52 Laptop - is there anything i can do to make the installer see my hdd ? Im not able to buy any external drive, my only hope is to make the installer see my hdd. Is there anything to do ? Thanks

Taisto, Post your questions here: http://osx.kbot.de

Also, that's not a lot of information. Don't let us google your Laptop to see the specifications.

Which kind of HDD, SA-TA or IDE etc., we need to know these infos first of all!

Oh well, im kinda noob in that stuff. The thing i`ve managed to find is that :

The chipset is : ATI Xpress 1150 (ATI RX485)

HDD : Hitachi 100GB 5400 obr 2,5" SATA

If there`s anything more needed, i`ll search for more.

RC2 is about to be completed, final tests and implementations are being processed by zeph

I've seen the pic of the installer to customize the installation of Rev.2 and i did not find the line for a SSE2 kernel.

Will be included a SSE2 installation option or do i have to replace the kernel as i did with Rev.1?!

Thank you!

If I could sign up I would ask there, but as I can't for some reason I asked here, also I don't see anyone on there asking about how to implement these fixes themselves, correct me if I'm wrong?

Thx zephyroth. Allthough some more language files would be appriciated  . The install was almost perfectly. It only removed an NTFS partition on the harddisk when I tried to format the first partition of the drive and it gave an error (sorry should have remembered the error) and cleared the whole MBR. But after undeleting that NTFS partition again and repeat the process with an other format command it all worked. Only the network does not work yet. But already read some post about the DHCP server problem. Will try that out.

sse2 is the default kernel that is installed if you have sse3 check the sse3 line :D
It recognized my 320gb drive as only 160gb! What is wrong?
if the disk is detected then nothing is wrong, the full size of the disk will be detected in the disk utility in leo after you installed it
