herot
I am using the files from here: http://osx86-t60.wikispaces.com/T60P I have my edid and put it in the ATIinject.kext using property list manager. I changed the 0x00001002&0x0000ffff to 0x71d51002&0x0000ffff I still cant get system info to say I have QE/CI... am I forgetting something? Much appreciation. L14M333
hello, i have a question, i have a x1600 but that topic is empty and as i saw that this was ported from the x1600 i thought id ask here anyway. In the info.plist of Atiinject.kext there are two EDID's they are: DFP1,EDID LVDS,EDID What are they? i only get one from xp and vista and looking at other people kexts they have two different ones :s im confused here. please help me. I have a t60p with the radeon x1700 or the 5250 or whatever (are they the same card?) Hi there It is not enough to change that string in Atiinject; in order to get the QU/CI you need the patched ATIRadeonX1000.kext Depending on what system you have ... In Snow you have to patch also the ATISupport.kext but in Leopard is no need for that ... After that Must place the right EDID in one of the injectors (Atiinject or Natit or RadeonHD) but also there could be a custom patch/change for each card because are not working the same even the id is similar to mine for example. Try to find the EDID and post it here and I'll do what is necessary ... hi here is My EDID. laptop is an f3JP 71d5 x1700 Download the files provided for Device Id 71D5 from mi very first post under Snow Leopard 10.6.2 Update and this injector made by dong and modified so that suits to your needs haris2887_RadeonHD.kext.zip

Thanks Liam The DFP1,EDID refers to the external display The LVDS,EDID is one that has to do with the on board display and the data must be replaced with the one that you get from windows. It is normal to have different EDID's because is related to each model of the display. Hope it helps, Cheers
rob151515
Hi, I've managed to get this working with an A8JP sort of. Most of the time it boots into the OS ok but every few boots it will display a striped screen (white vertical stripes on a black screen) and sometimes just a black screen. When this happens I have to keep rebooting until I get lucky enough for it to boot successfully. Strikes me as a bit weird that this is happening randomly seeing as though the software itself is not changing? Anyone seen this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm a bit of a noob with osx, I understand the repair with the kext utility, but what do you mean by the permissions and the kextcache that is faulty? When you installed some kexts the chown and cmod is a must in order to get the drivers or whatever kext to be recognized by system as a loadable and original one, so that it can create a cache so next boot to be faster. The kext utility can resolve that problem ...

BrendenM
I do not have an Asus laptop but a Lenovo T60p with an ATI x1700 card in it. I have gotten it to work for QE/CI and resolution changes by modifying ATIRadeonX1000.kext and then using ATIinject.kext or EVOEnabler.kext or gfx EFI strings. All three get my laptops LCD screen to display properly and let the built in VGA port work for dual monitors (if it's plugged in at boot). Actually the VGA works in both my laptop and when my laptop is docked. What I'm stuck on now is trying to get the DVI port in my docking station to work. It shows everything fine through the boot process but when it goes to swtich to the login screen the DVI connection shuts off. I've tried editing the injection kexts to have three ATI,EFIDisplay entries, put in my EDID of my external monitor and other miscellaneous changes but so far no luck. Does anyone have this setup and have it working, or have any suggestions on what I might try? Thanks!

Apple does not use that so there is a device not recognized by the system as a Display so no signal will be send to that port. Ahhh well here was to hoping to fix one of the last two things with my install, the other being proper dimming of the display for power saving instead of half the screen turning off. Other thing i figured out right now ... My laptop has DVI and VGA but only one can work at a time when dual monitor ... I made the test using a normal external display connected to VGA and a FlatTV using DVI(toHDMI) and only one works at a time ... no matter what i edit inside the driver, maybe i have to power off the internal display before boot so that the externals (both) to work. As for the power saving ... hmmm ... it is odd thing. If you use the VoodooPower or NullCPUPower... the results are different so the power consumption and the light dim differ. Mine is like that. In Linux and Windows only the VGA or DVI work, not both at the same time. But that is with the Internal LCD screen, I can't shut off the LCD screen and use both of them (VGA& DVI). As for the power saving ... hmmm ... it is odd thing. If you use the VoodooPower or NullCPUPower... the results are different so the power consumption and the light dim differ. I'm not using either VoodooPower or NullCPUPower, my DSDT is patched to allow native support with AppleIntelCPUPower. This is with the video driver itself, I've been reading quite a few posts on it and it just seems to be the framebuffer itself. RadeonHD however does work properly with screen dimming however it doesn't work with dual monitors (at least as far as I'm aware of) nor does it allow my laptop to sleep. Great Righteye No one ported Natit and ATINDRV to the x64 architecture and my knowledge about making that is limited I understood that someone compiled the RadeonHD to work on x86_64 but i have no confirmations yet. The source is available here and i'll do some research on it. If that will be made to work 100% will be grate, cause then is no need for other injector or ATINDRV. marcg
I have a T60 Model 2007-57U which has a ATI V5250 card with 256MB. The native display of my LCD screen is 1024x768. I'm using iPC 10.5.6 and the vanilla drivers seem to work with my resolution, but do not support QE/CI. I have a vendor code of 1002 71D4, and I have tried FINETUNED drivers with my EDID and I've enjoyed the best success so far. I found the closest drivers for me here: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=70858 I have QE/CI working, but the screen is split in half vertically, and mostly blank on the right. I have tried setting the "Graphics Mode" in the Boot.plist and the Darwin kernel loader preferences, but to no avail. Has anyone else seen this? Have any ideas how to resolve? Thanks, Marc So you downloaded the files for 10.5.6 and that is the result. I had that problem to ... No panic, it is all fixable but i need some time ... I'll see you soon with some facts. OK Main problem i do not know what finetuned edited in those kexts, hard to trace, but i am sure he made a grate job. But i compared the versions with the ones i have and for the same version of System the versions of kexts are not the same. Anyway ... My thought is to jump to level 10.5.8 (just download the update from apple site), backup all the kexts needed for system to boot but forget about video for now, do the update then use this kext for video: marcg_V5250_71D4_10.5.8_ATIRadeonX1000.kext.zip and do not use the injector for now. See if the Qe/Ci are enabled ... then we work on the injector. But if your LCD has 1024x768 then is no need for injectors of any kind.
