Is anybody out there who have this Notebook running with ideneb 10.5.8?

Try to find a solution for the problem with the mouse/cursor-tearing. Spend much hours for testing the different *.kexts i could find .... reading the treads ... but i find no success for my problem - everything works more or less only the ATI x1700 / 256 MB makes me crazy.

Can anybody help me?

Up RightEye ! :(

there is nothing i can do more right now ... i can't reproduce your problem ... must be sure you use the right files, the right EDID and the right settings on injector plist. Hint - pick up a few injector plist from first page and try combining the strings

use only one injector at a time ...

normally the black screen comes when using a not proper AtiRadeonx1000.kext that has not the device id that should be and the Qe/Ci problem comes when al the files related to video are not working together as they suppose to ...

sorry mate

did you tried SL ?

Hi, i got a problem with my display!

Everything seems to work fine, but after some time working with my 'Mac' (Snow Leopard 10.6.2) my display looks like this:

display

(not mine but looks like the same)

I don't know what causes that. Maybe it isn't caused by the display drivers?

My device id is 71d5 and my edid is:

00FFFFFF FFFFFF00 0DAF4515 00000000 25100103 80211578 0ADD6897 56508726 1E4E5100 00000101 01010101 01010101 01010101 0101AB22 A0A05084 1A303020 36004CCF 10000018 000000FE 004E3135 3443312D 4C30310A 20200000 00FE0043 4D4F0A20 20202020 20202020 000000FE 004E3135 3443312D 4C30310A 2020006C

I added the EDID to Evoendabler.

I have an Asus f3jp, max resolution is 1440x900 (works), Processor is T7200 (2x2,0Ghz)

Notebook is called Asus Z53jp AP111C

It would be nice if anyone could help me.

Sorry for my bay english;)

I use Chameleon RC4 with those kexts for my Graphic Card:

Extentions.zip

Forgot to say that the problem already existet with 10.5.8

Extentions.zip

Those stripes i got when i press the "Detect Displays" thing

Also i had removed the ATI1600Controller.kext from /System/Library/Extensions folder, in the /Extra/Extensions folder i have only EVOEnabler.kext the rest are in /System/Library/Extensions folder (a posible cause for your problem).

Another difference is in ATIFramebuffer.kext

on yours at Wormy_Personality is modified to IOProviderClass to be IOPCIDevice

on mine i kept the default value of the string to IOPlatformDevice

The ATIRadeonX1000.kext:

yours is 1.6.0 version and mine is 1.6.6 version modified in plist and hex edited to device id 71D5

ATISupport.kext

also a difference of versions there and a slight but important one is on IOPCIMatch string

yours is 0x71d51002&0x0000FFFF

mine is 0x71d51002

EVOEnabler

there must be a workaround

i think your video does not have 512 MB Ram so the values from

ATY,FrameBufferOffset

ATY,VRAM,MemSize

must be to suit yours (like 128 or 256 depends on how much ram the card has dedicated)

the @0,display-link-type string in some cases must be deleted and also @1,display-link-type

and has to add the @0,fboffset and @1,fboffset as a Data value ... something like <80000000> but you have to be sure about that

also the EDID must be extracted from Windows

Try to compare and do some modifications as required SL10.6.2_x1700_71D5.zip

Righteye, thanks for your reply!

I've tried out the things your wrote, but the result is that it crashes double as often as before:)

EvoEndabler is now the only kext in Extra folder, all others are in System/Libary/Extensions.

Currently i am using the files you attached in your last post, without the EVOendabler.

I edited EVOendabler and ATIframebuffer as you wrote. (yes my card has 256Mb)

(also deleted the @...display link types, and modified framebuffer too, to the default string as you wrote)

I don't insert the @...fboffset!

Will try out more next week (i haven't much time this week).

Any idea what i can do additionaly?

Thanks so far, titorius

hm...i've tried out a few things like deleting the strings for temperatures, etc, but no result yet!

If i work 'normal' it don't crashes that often, but if i try to watch a video it will crash after ten minutes:(

Strange behavior ... it is like is resetting itself to "Detect displays"

Anyway ... mine it is reseting itself from time to time even in Windows ... black screen ... but if i switch twice the "Fn+DisplayON/OFF" buttons comes up again. It drives me nuts because happens random and in a bottom corner it is very hot ...

Do not know what to do; some dust there that must be cleaned ... :censored2:

Try using the Natit from the first page ... Some people reported that worked better with it and get reed of EVOEnabler or Atiinject ...

Hi, display off/on don't work for me. The stripes still there when i turn on the display again.

Natit works, but still the problem with the stripes;)

But i figured out that i don't get the problem without an injector (then at 1024x768)

Also that 1024X768 is the only resolution that flickers if i use an injector. And also that there is no sound for a few seconds when the stripes come up.

So i think i delete some keys in Natit or Evoendabler (yes i only use one) step by step now and hope that i find the right one (a kind of nooby :D )

Hi guys,

I've been reading this thread for two hours or so and unfortunately am none the wiser.

I'm stuck here with an Acer Travelmate 5720g with a Mobility Radeon X2500 (should be nothing else than a X1700) running vanilla 10.6.0. QE seemed to run out of the box, I fixed mouse tearing with MousePointer 1.1 (works more or less fine) but I can't change resolution. I've tried editing the boot.plist but nothing happens.

Would somebody write a tutorial on how to set this up, as it seems that it is possible to get this sucker up and running

If the Qe/Ci work out of the box but you have problems with the mouse and you can't res change ... better use this kext from dong

He reported, and a few people more that this are the supported video cards.

That should be the fix for you.

Remove all the injectors you have, let be all vanilla and use kext helper to "install the kext. Look for the one made for Snow Leopard.

Cheers

1) When i moving the mouse i have some artefacts. Sometimes.

2) I can't change resolution on my display. (addition of lines ещto the apple.com.boot.plist gave no efect)

Can someone help me in this ? Card id is: 0x71de, vendor:1002.

PS: I'm sorry for my english. I'm from Ukraine :-)

Thanks for the fastest reply !

1) Yes, i have Ideneb 1.6 Lite (10.5.8). I don't install any drivers for video, but after install is complete i saw in Extentions folder ATINDRV.kext and ATIRadeonX1000.kext.

2) EDID you can see in the attachment. Also in the attachment you can see the screenshot with artefacts near the mouse cursor.

download the ATIRadeonx1000

then ATINDRV.kext.zipthis are necessary in order to be able to use the other kexts

Now this is the part where you have to be careful because only one at once can be used:

ATIinject_vladort.kext.zip NatitX1700_vladort.kext.zipRadeonHD_vladort.kext.zip

The RadeonHD is made by dong, so all the credits are going to him. I just modified the EDID to suit to yous ...

All the kexts must be installed on /S/L/E folder

Do the tests ... and please report back so we can trace future problems.

Cheers
