I downloaded a zip file with torrent (kalyway 9a527), unzippen into tiger (because in windows it is not possible), got an iso, burned into a dvd, boot from it..

If I try to install it from tiger I have problems..

There is no way you can do upgrading from tiger. You have to boot it with the DVD you burned. see attached screenshot from me, that was the KP I got when I tried to install leo, it shows the kernel version of 9.0.0b5 not like yours 8.8.1 (this is 10.4.8 kernel moded by Semthex back in 2006), that's why I said it shouldn't be from Leo Install DVD, there is no point that Leo will use tiger kernel to boot... :(:angel::):(

so I can only think to have a wrong leo.dmg!

 

I am not an expert on it, everything I said was just based on my experience, I don't know if you have the correct dmg file, but do some checking as possible... Get on some IRC channels, ask experts there to see if you can have any different answer. :P

Hi all :)

Not to sure if this is the place to ask, but I have installed leopard 9a527(kalway), on startup, after the animation

it ask's for keyboard nationality and as soon as I pick which one the screen soft of freeze's (the mouse still works)

and then it restarts from the beginning of the animation. I have tried several keyboards (usb and ps/2).

Does anybody have a solution.

Hey I tried installing this on my XPS 410, and after I install it and do the initial setup part, it gets stuck and loops back to the beginning. Does this CD require an upgrade, or is it possible to do a completely fresh install?

I installed Kalyway Leopard. No Sound. Mouse & key board Issues. Iweb08 hangs. Iphoto works ok. But not able to edit photo. Finder Crashes when i click About this mac. :P Can anyone suggest me how to make these work.

 

Intel 915 (Ausus Chipset)

Realtek AC97 sound card.

QE & CI.

You may have to repair your permissions through disk utility. See if it can solve your finder crash problem. iLife issue, no clue... :(
Ok, I'm having problem after the installation of leo it keeps on rebooting. Tried other options at install and changing of kernel but no avail.System specs at my siggy.
Make sure you have to correct kernel (noHpet one), and put it in root, then at bootloader stage, type in your new nohpet kernel name plus "-v" flag to see if it works. :)

Hey guys, Just to add to this. Just for kicks I d/l Kalyways Leopard from TPB to see if I could get it to work.

 

What I did was, removed the woking tiger Hardrive and fitted a new empty drive turned on and tried to install. I got a kernal panic nearly straight away. envying It said 8.8.1 for sure.

 

Must be another version floating around? When I go home on Thursday I'll post a screenshot.

I got leopard to install but it just reboots, I have -v so i can see the begining but it reboots, and i have used cpus=1 and still reboots. Could you PM me where to get the non hpet kernel? i've checked the usual places, green demon, tpb. do you think that's what's holding me back?

it's not fake.. that's just the installer... and that's why you shouldn't repair permissions using the DVD, do it in Terminal.

I was getting same kernal panic with 8.8.1 message on new Gigabyte p35-ds4

than I used my old SONY VAIO PC(P4 540) with P915 motherboard to install on SATA drive after instillation It couldnt boot I didnt used any of patched video or sound driver

 

Then I connected the same SATA Hard drive(to which I just installed 10.5) to Gigabyte new motherboard with Q6600

It booted , and my nvidia 7600 GT worked with CI and QE very well , also Ethernet worked . I was unable to drag drop . After repairing permissions it worked .

 

To my surprise Bluetooth USB adapter motorola worked fine ( Yes is a big deal ) with my stereo Bluetooth headphone Motorola HT820 first time ever in any osx86 Hackintosh

Sound quality is great

Also on board sound 889A worked fine after patching

still few issues like my airport express is not detected

But Sure its Quite snappier than Tiger 10.4.10 Safari very fast

iTunes QT iPhoto etc worked fine

so it installed fine, i tried with no patches and boot with -v to see what kernel panics it would throw then apply those patches and my mobo supports hpet and is enabled. when i boot with -v it shows the loader then restarts....

 

so i used cpus=1 and -x combos but same result.

 

uphuck 1.4i r3 did this too me but the cpus=1 fixed it. any ideas?

Any of you can help me out with the 9A527 installation? I downloaded the Kalyway image, burned a couple of discs to make sure everything was alright. When trying to boot off the DVD to install, this is what I am getting. I am stuck at this screen. See screenshot above. Below are my specs (trying to install on a PW5 DH Deluxe).

Hi

Not yet :unsure:

There is another post on this siye which mentions it could either be the graphics driver or

network. I started by trying to find a base system which work upto the point in question.

With and without networking, still no luck. Installed various nvidia drivers, still no luck :)

I think I'am going to what for the final release. What is really bugging me that I have 10.4.10

working.

It works well for me. Had issues with GMA 950. Did a reinstall with Leopard 950 drivers and AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext from 10.4.x. everything worked including qe/ci. Loading kexts and repairing permissions is "different". A tutorial on kext installs would be helpful.

still no love, any ideas? i've even tried booting into my 10.4.9 partition, renaming the kernel and using a noHPET kernel with correct permissions and ownership, cpus=1, -x, -v, -s, -f combos, no luck just loads darwin then reboots :o.

 

i am currently tyring envyings steps where i use diskutility to restore the image from the leopard iso i downloaded. not sure if i'm doing it right tho.

 

help plz

got it working, did a reinstall with 2 partitions 1 with uphuck 10.4.9 and other with kalyway leo, booted into the tiger partition, switched the kernels, checked permissions reboot to leo and it worked! good luck all and a big thanks to Envying and GladiatorII
