WTH?????

Today, after work, I decided to give one shot more ... and I've got it on work!

Steps

DUDE! You rock!

Writing this from Safari, 1280 by 1024 res (native drivers worked), AppleBC5751 zapped in - worked, have net connection.

No Audio, will look for relevant HDA kext (realtek if I'm not mistaken...).

Woohoo! Awsome interface... BTW - what keystrokes to do a screen grab?

Well I got Kalyway installed but Im having major problems with crashing. Im able to get to the desktop but after awhile (like a minute or 2, or sometimes right away) finder will crash and leave me with a blue screen. It happens randomly whether Im doing something or not. It crashes in safe mode as well.

Any ideas on how to fix frequent crashes? I already repaired permissions (after like 10+ reboots trying to get to disk utitlity before it crashes or finishes repairing...).

Well, TD ... right, is a really nice front view. I've got also 1280x1024 resolution, after altering Natit.kext and setting up a modified one; still no QE and CI only from software. Any other patch related with graphics will crash the system or simply won't boot properly (for sure, hardware & bios related). For the moment I'm really satisfied (I've seen it on action and I'll get a MacBook with Leo in a short time).

# idividebyzero: how did you install Leo (with or without pacthes/drivers)? I will really recommend an USB external HDD for Leo to get it on action, and least but not last, check the setup within BIOS. It seems like there are some pb. with SATA drivers. And also, the most important, graphics.

#BrazilMac: did you check the CRC of the burned DVD? Did you check the DVD on other machine to see if is booting? Try to set the unit to an USB (there are some adapters IDE/SATA<->USB) ...

Cheers.

I installed it by first putting in some hdd controller kexts ont he ISO, I cant remember what they were called exactly since it was a long time ago when I burned it, but it was a pretty typical HDD kext people would take from Tiger. ATAFamily or something.

The installer could not see any internal drives, today I decided to move my SATA drives from purple ports to orange ports, and voila the installer saw them and I was able to install finally. But it would not boot after installation with the drives connected to the orange ports, so I had to move them back to purple which let me get to the desktop.

The options I chose were only Titan and SATA drivers (since I have ICH8), everything else I left alone.

Everything seems fine aside from audio and internet (which I havent tried to configure yet because of the constant crashing), I get QE and Core Animation and the speed is like Tiger.

I didnt solve the crashing problem, thats just how I got it to boot. Well... I actually did solve the crashing problem but not the way I wanted.

It seems titan is causing it to crash. I installed again but used Natit .2, but like usual natit never works out of the box for me and gives me a massive headache to fix, so I was stuck at a low res but atleast it doesnt crash.

I edited geforce.kext, NVDANV40Hal.kext, NVDAResman.kext, to include only my device ID 0x039110de and deleted the mkext then repaired permissions. Reboot, verbose mode runs then gets to where it says launches login window, some other stuff, then finishes with labeling my HDD's. No black screen, its like it doesnt go to the GUI and stays in verbose mode.

Hi Guys,

i got Leopard (mostly) working on the pc that normally is my file/game-server

Hardware specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 1,83Ghz

Mainboard: Asrock ConRoe1333-D667 So775 Intel 945GC Chipsatz, ICH7, S775,

Graphic: Onboard, Intel GMA950

Sound: Onboard, ALC888

LAN: Realtek RTL8111B Gigabit

RAM: 2 GB

Working so far: Graphic Card, Sound, Lan

I only installed Azalia, not the intel gma drivers or the network driver, these 2 worked out of the box.

IMPORTANT to all CONROE mainboards: go to your bios and set onboard audio from "auto" to "enabled", otherwise your sound will not work!

thanks to whoever posted this on this forum, worked perfectly for me =)

not working: Standby, Speedstep, both cores :o

i have to start Leopard with cpus=1 else there will be a kernel panic.

screenshots: screenshot1 screenshot2 screenshot3

He installed leopar 527 kalyway

The installation took place without any mistake

When you restart the computer I get the option not to start the leopard.

Solo appears light and tiger 10.4.8

Anyone can help me

As I started from leopard

For DrDra: nohpet.pkg

Cheers.

nohpet.pkg.zip

After (several) succesful install my leo volume still not bootable.

Yes, partition is active, it's mbr, repair permission after the /Library/Receipts correction.

Even not showed up on the Startup Disk (and won't boot).

Any help, please?

Stone, thank you for your answer, but i'm not quite sure that this is really what I need.

This package tries to install CPU power management on my real mac.

Actually, I'm not sure that kernel is making me problems.

My instalation comes to 100%, and then it says 'THERE WERE PROBLEMS DURING INSTALLATION, TRY AGAIN'

When I reboot, it is stucked.

When I explore drive, files are there.

Any ideas?

@DrDra: I get this error several times. I don't write the image to dvd, only mount it, and install in Tiger 10.4.10. If i locked it, and mount with disk utility, i get this same error. If i locked it, and mount with Roxio Toast, everything went fine. So, if you would like to write it to dvd i think the best tool on a Mac is Toast, not the Disk Utility. Hope this helps. Oh, and it also was fine, when i restore the iso to a partition with disk utility, and install from there.

Any ideas why my install without error messages won't boot? The installer won't make the volume bootable, or what???

When i activate the partition it was not active already, why? The installer won't do that?

I think something wrong with my mbr. If i update it with fdisk -u what happen exactly? If i do that from Tiger, fdisk writes an mbr of the Tiger? Fdisk requires a boot0 file. I copy it from the dvd, because i have there a boot.efi file only, but nothing new. I'm stuck here. :D Several blinking cursors at boot and missing operating system errors at boot. I tried partition the disk within windows, but it not helps. Tried partition with the known working old tiger Disk Utility and with Disk Utility from the Leo dvd, but no success. I always partitioned to mbr. After install i make the partition active in fdisk, because the installer won't do that. After correcting the Base package i was repair permissions, but it make no sense, because the boot process not working...

My fully working Tiger install is on another drive (a sataII one). This, with the Leo is an ide drive. This is the problem? I don't think so. I tried to connect it via usb (i have an usb ide hdd enclosure), but it do the same. If i boot from the Tiger hdd + F8, it can't boot Leo.

Thanks,

Sidha

Test F8 FOLLOWING THE BIOS

YOU MUST GO TO THE DISCO WHERE INSTALASTE LEOPARD

Ok. Dr. Dra. Are you trying to install the USB package? I kept getting that error when I tried to install it.

Sidha, boot into verbose mode and tell us what you see. I think you have the same problem I had.

It wont boot, so i can not boot to verbose mode either, and now i don't have the dvd.

I hope i found any info about the mbr thing... i think my mbr is wrong.

y method of installation:

Install kalyway 527 without any driver, with nothing, only the system and vervose.

Once installed the first screen bios press F8, from the unit where booteo

Install leopard.

I also installed tiger 10.5.8 and ultimate view.

That's all I hope that would/Users/anantarupadas/Desktop/Captura

Hi again

Quick question - I'm normally very circumspect about these kind of requests, but I'm tearing my hair out trying to acquire GM581 (I come from a place where a 1Mbps adsl connection is considered super-duper ;) ) - does anybody have an invite code for the demon? I've been a good boy, tried for months now to wait for an opening, but no go...
