swag01
ArkaPro; I've heard rumors that when you have a dvd inserted in the drive and let the system idle for a while, the dvd drive becomes disabled and you can only get it back by rebooting. Have you seen this issue too? Thanks swag01 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/53651-intel-p35-ich9-works-asus-p5k/page/4/#findComment-470799 Share on other sites
AlainTox714
Oh man I'm sorry......... The wires are pinned that way that I cant connect it right away. I really understand that you cant unplug everything to just connect an IDE DVDR. Just in case in the future, if you have to modify your mobo and remenber this thread, could you try the IDE connector and report. Today i'am not in a hurry and just wait to see what news will provide Leopard come out. You can also do a search for ACHI post install XP and there are a couple of tricks that you can do with the registry and command line in XP to install ACHI after the install. It works with the P5K series and other P35 series MOBOs. I have done it myself and it worked great. chival4ry
I installed with Uphuck 1.4i r2 a few days ago. System: CPU: E6600 MoBo: P5K (plain P5K) NIC: Intel Pro 1000MT PCI (damn Attansic ) GPU: MSI 7900GTO 512MB (with patched bios) Several HDDs Old DVD Writer with IDE->SATA Adapter New Apple Keyboard (really slim) My Experience: - Jmicron in AHCI works, but was to buggy for me. I forced my Bios back to 406 to enable SATA AHCI (with afudos211) - Intel NIC won't work with IONetworkingfamily.kext from installation disk (...you have to restart your computer...), but IONetworkingfamily.kext from 10.4.4 works perfect. - Sound was no problem with IDs found in this forum (2 channel of course) - The newest Quicktime Update screwed my Rosetta functions (all workarounds tested, no go -> new installation :-( - OSX HDD plugged to SATA1 (red) and DVD to SATA2 (red) works best for me - HDDs at SATA 3+4 are not regonized (no Prob, plugged in my Windose HDDs) - I do NOT install the Apple Keyboard driver after a search in forums Overall: no problems. Standby->OK / no crashes at all while using and installing Software several days (24/7) / Performance is great - Quake4/UT2004/Prey works great under OSX Marlboro dnjmarlboro, very nice ! You can also do a search for ACHI post install XP and there are a couple of tricks that you can do with the registry and command line in XP to install ACHI after the install. ricren
Hi, all. [Guide] ASUS P5K Vanilla : Installing Leopard ( http://forum.osx86scene.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2566 ) I'd really would like to see a guide like this but for Tiger. Many of us can not migrate to Leopard yet because of the apps that ar not working yet. An there's still a lot of them . cheers Ric Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/53651-intel-p35-ich9-works-asus-p5k/page/4/#findComment-505301 Share on other sites
