  1. Get ALC662v2 Sound With VoodooHDA

Hi, thanks for your work on this. Can I ask if this would work with an ALC662 (not v2?). If not can you suggest any alternative? The Vodoo 2.8.4 that I use produces unwanted noise when I rise the volume control past the 80%. I have a Biostar G31 Combo with 662 audio RUNNING 10.9.4. Thanks again.!

  4. In my experience, the most difficult part with Nvidia cards is to get the NVcap right. Once you get it, the rest is easy. For example, my Asus 7300Gt cards did not work with all the Nvcaps that were posted at that time , I had to keep modifying it 'till I got the right one. The same happened recently with my new Palit 250. It will not work with the common nvcap for other 250 cards, not even with the nvcap of another Palit 250 (Palit makes 3 different 250 cards ) I had to manage to arrive to the one that fits the card, with a brute force approach, trying different numbers. Once you get it, everything works in any combination. R.
  5. Two identical cards would be easier, I think. Befor this setup, I had two 7300 GT on the same machine working ok.
  6. I have an I7 930 on a Gigabyte X58 UD3R working with a Palit Nvidia 250 and a MSI 9500GT. Not a problem on the software side, but I had to cut some plastic on the 250 to be able to fit the two cards on the PCI x16 slots. Perhaps the fan case of the Palit in out of spec. R.

  9. Hi Guys, A brief question if you don't mind: I'm starting to put a hack together. Looking at the name options to include in the smbios, you can choose between iMac,MacPro3.1, MacPro4.1 and so on. Does this naming is used for the OS to adjust things or is just a cosmetic thing? How do you choose the model-name? Based on what? My present system is a EP-35-DS3P, Q8400 using the MacPro3.1 name in smbios. Running great My furure build will be a X58A-UD3R, i7 930. Which model would you choose? Thanks Ric thanks Ric

  15. Guys, this is great information.Thanks. However, I have a question that is so basic that I'm a little embarased to ask, so forgive me if this is too dummy: I'm curently using just EFI string for video and I'd like to follow the DSDT video injectin method discused here, so I was colecting the data needed to fill the DSDT (Nvcap andVRam total size) and I discovered that the information that IORegistry Explorer gives me is in a different format that the one used in this method, for example:IORegistryExplorer shows my NVCAP as: <04 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 06 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00> but the format on the examples is like: /* 0000 */ 0x04, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x03, 0x00, /* 0008 */ 0x0C, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x07, /* 0010 */ 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00 Could anybody give me some hint on this? Thanks a lot! Again, sorry for this basic question! Ric
