I came from the linux comunity and I know very well windows (I am a windows programmer at work).

Apple, with all, is one of the best what I saw. But...

Usual when I discuss with the users "What's about to have an Apple system or a Linux one, all said noooooo..."

Bill made a good job!

Linux will be... because we are a lot... AIXGL, XGL, Beryl, Emerald..., but "OS X" I don't know...

Usual arch is Intel or AMD (most buyed).

For these reasons, please APPLE increase you support, for this guys which do your job for free, because soon you will lose your jobs.

Hello bee. Welcome to the forums. I understand how annoying it is when people assume there's nothing better than Windows out there. I mean, it is good, but there are a lot of alternatives.

If you experience a language barrier problem, we have a multi-lingual forum here.

windows users are hard to break through... but one day... they will see the light of mac

and if your accustomed to linux.... mac is still a Unix-based system and you can get many linux things on mac... they have KDE for mac and RPM for mac... etc

Ok! I'm not a natively english one! There is the problem about this?!

What's the idea is simple: You undestand exactly what I said.

BTW you convince me. I already start from the begining http://www.opensource.apple.com/darwinsource/, http://developer.apple.com/documentation/, http://developer.apple.com/sdk/...

I still remember when people were saying this in 1990, and 92, and 94, and 2000, etc. etc.

I'm still waiting.

Won't happen until the crapload of developers for windows all decide to move to a *NIX platform. But I say... let them fill Windows with bloat, I'm on OS X for all I care

d3po, how many languages do you speak? Have you made the effort to learn another language? I'm almost certain the answer is no, because people who have don't make idiotic comments like yours.

bee10000, your English is good. Don't let anyone discourage you. I applaud you for spending the time to learn other languages.

Hello bee. Welcome to the forums. I understand how annoying it is when people assume there's nothing better than Windows out there. I mean, it is good...
Define good please ;)

The only advice I can give any new user is: try the damn thing for yourself!

If you like it, keep it. If you don't, well then look for an alternative. And never forget: MOST PEOPLE ARE IGNORANT WHEN IT COMES TO COMPUTERS/HARDWARE. I mean seriously. A lot of people think of themselves as computer experts just because they have worked a long time with this or that system, but that's ridiculous. I have been driving for more than 15 years now, but that doesn't make me a mechanical engineer, right?

If you really want to find out about something then go ahead and get your experience "first hand". That way you will avoid having to deal with fan boys of this or that OS.

Cheers,

I'm a Windows user, but I'm loving the fact that now, I can run Mac OS X on my PC. I'm actually thinking of just doing away with Windows and switching to OS X. The only thing that is stopping me is: with the modified OS DVD you can't really update offically. Mac's are too expensive compared to a PC
