moseschrist, thanks.

Interesting thing, I've noticed nsGUI wireless on/off command does not work for me, it just locks utility window. Hardware button works perfect and nsGUI appears to track on/off state correctly when hw switch is used.

adhoc network in iwi200

to create the network:

- turn off the card (if this fails reboot into mac os with the card powered on) - this should be emymrin's problem

- change mode to adhoc

- click create network button

ip address:

in a cable connection (without router) you get ip 169.254.xxx.xxx and a subnet 255.0.0.0 (not shure about this)

but if you have a router you get 192.168.xxx.xxx and a subnet 255.255.255.0

i don't know about wireless adhoc connections, but it should be the same

the ip/subnet can be setup in system preferences - this sould be done after creating the network in nsgui

maybe it's possible to setup nsgui to detect the router and add the correct subnet, but until that

it's better to set it up manually

i don't have a way to test adhoc connections, so if you have the hardware let me know the results

moses,

can you commit a new version of iwi2200 with the adhoc/secure fix?

iwi2100

i need someone with the card and xcode to try to find where the driver crashes - should not be to hard to find out

iwi3945

can someone build a new firmware header file and commit it to svn?

intel 4965AGN card

this card as been ported to linux http://intellinuxwireless.org/

the source code is shared with 3945, so i'll try to port it to mac os

can someone with this cards post some feedback? i don't know nothing about it

I have an IBM/Lenovo T60 running kernel 8.1 (has the 3945 card), can I be of any assistance?

I think I have Xcode kicking around here somewhere, and I have some free time.

Not a programmer, but can follow basic direction if it's helpful to the cause.

Shure would be nice to ditch this D-Link pcmcia wifi card..

hey I haven't been keeping up and I don't want to read 120+ pages . . . does the 2915ABG card work?

edit: major apologizes, just found the FAQ.

iwi3945 rev 472

i've update the firmware with iwlwifi-3945-ucode-2.14.3

iwi4965 rev 473

this is for 4965 cards - it's based on iwi3945

i'm having problems commiting to svn - it will be ready soon. ok done at rev 474

Just Can someone please help me remove all the old files for the iw2200 driver.. everytime i want to install the new dmg i get an error say "there is nothing to install"....

how can I fix this?!?!

I have been looking for an answer for awhile now.

Open Terminal in Applications -> Utilities

type the following one line at a time [or copy/paste]:

sudo -s
rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/iwi2200.kext
touch /System/Library/Extensions
rm -rf /Path/To/networkSelector
rm -rf /Path/To/nsGui
exit
CMD-Q

Next time you reboot it will be gone.

that's it!

iwi3945/4965

the firmware was converted with "hex2string". this might not be the best thing to do.

can someone with this cards check it?

I've been away and can't wait to get back to testing and hopefully more contributing.

I'll definitely test this tonight!

Oh I'm also thinking about buying a 4965 card. This is going to be fun.

Hi,

My laptop has been stolen a few days ago ; I lost my OSX development environment, and the associated 3945 wifi chipset. I think my next computer will be a MacBook (Pro), so I probably won't be able to contribute again to this project. Sorry, and good luck to all :thumbsdown_anim:

Hi all,

I got a Travelmate 4230 with 3945, and in this machine the driver does load but in NS doesn't do any thing.

I don't know why I can't upload the logs to the forum, is it a General Failure? I'll paste all here, sorry.
