Rickyroko
Hi All! I recently got Mac OS X working on my HP dv6375us after giving up several months ago on my main computer. After evaluating what was not working, the only thing left to fix is the Wireless Intel 3945abg MiniPCI. So I guess I'll help with the research here and post my logs. Mac OS X 86 (10.4.10) Kernel 8.10.1 iwidarwin3945 Rev. 475 Intel 3945abg via MiniPCI. Hope this helps, and let me know if I can help in anything. Rickyroko EDIT: BTW, My machine has a wireless kill switch interuptor (Left Off, Right On). Running SSE3. Special Thanks to jalavoui for all your/his hard work! ====DMESG============================ iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_unmask_channel iwi3945: ieee80211_rate_control_register iwi3945: ieee80211_register_hw iwi3945: ipw_reset_channel_flag iwi3945: ipw_set_supported_rates_mask iwi3945: ipw_set_rate iwi3945: ipw_send_power_mode iwi3945: Flags value = 0x00000000 iwi3945: Tx timeout = 0 iwi3945: Rx timeout = 0 iwi3945: Sleep interval vector = { 0 , 0 , 0 , 0 , 0 } iwi3945: ipw_connection_init_rx_config iwi3945: ipw_send_bt_config iwi3945: ipw_commit_rxon iwi3945: flushing Input Queue iwi3945: interrupt recieved 0x82000008 masked 0xaa000003 card mask 0xaa000003 iwi3945: Microcode SW error detected. J.Picard
if the driver dont panic, try option (1) of networkselector to turn the card on. boot with -s and post the picture if you get a kernel panic. Hey jalavoui, my Notebook is a thinkpad R40. When the system is starting, the LED for the wireless is flashing. In windows it's like searching for a network. But when i'm starting the networkselector or the connection settings the system is freezing with the screen like toxics picture. JustJoe
hold down F8 while booting. select your Mac boot drive. Don't press enter. The bottom line will let you type in boot options. type -s and press enter. tada. JustJoe
To all the new guys: Welcome. Intel ProWireless cards are not recognized as Airport, and likely never will be. Drivers are still in development, as is an awesome GUI. networkSelector only works for some cards. Encryption is not implemented yet. Take a look at this site. It has an FAQ and all kinds of info. When you need to post logs, unzip and use this utility and post the text files here as attachments. We'll get there, just have some patience and help when you can. auqs10
Hi diligent people envolved to solve the Intel Pro WireLess 3945 a/b/g problem under osx. Many thanks to Jalavoui and all of you contributing to these developments. I have a Dell Inspiron 6400/E1505 with Intel Core 2 Duo T7200, but unfortunately with Intel Wireless 3945 a/b/g card, that is not working under MacOSX 10.4.10 (and didn't work with previous versions 10.4.7 to present one). The iwi3945.dmg installed is the latest one downloaded from internet. Here are the logs recorded with the command posted by JustJoe (THANKS). Launching the Network Selector the options 1 (turn card on), 2 (network list) and 3 (switch led) were executed but no result (not even the led, still not lighted). Hope will help us finally to start working. jalavoui
iwi3945 after installing the driver use networkselector option (1). don't use other options the goal is to test what happens when the card is switched on/off this is also for the 2100/4965 cards there are some bugs in code - if anyone can download it from svn please help fixing it thank you all JustJoe, can you remove old .dmg of iwi2200 and put the rel 475 in iwidarwin downloads? it's stable enought to be there. put it as "featured" so that it shows in the main page Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36976-intel-wireless-driver/page/100/#findComment-403508 Share on other sites

auqs10
Hi Jalavoui, here are the recorded logs before applying the Network Selector option 1 (exactly after system launch), and also after applying that NS. Thanks for indications, I am just a simple user, but I can reply with my experiences on laptop usage. BP_TheGhost
I'm having a problem everytime I try to install iwi3945 I get a error: There were errors installing the software / Please try installing again. Now I tried to install Safari 3 beta I get the same message so it must be something with OSX... I just patched it to 10.4.9 thats the only thing new. moseschrist
hey guys, i just dropped by to explain why i haven't been here for so long... we have entered the finals period here in my university, and i was swamped by assignment and my job so i havn't had time to look at the code, let alone do any work... i'll be back hopefully next month, and and at worst case, by the end of august i'm here full power see you soon guys... CyberTron
Hi, Haven't been on macos for a long time (since 10.4.4) and a lot has happened. I now have a new laptop which runs MacOSX perfectly except for the wireless part. My card is a Intel 3945 and I have downloaded the driver, and Installed it. But there it ends, nothing, I can't run the util that came with it because it spits out "could not get ID for kernel control. 2" which if I understand correctly means that the driver hasn't loaded. although when I run kextload iwi3945.kext it says "already loaded" any ideas?
