iwi3945 rev 339

looks like it causes a kernel panic

boot with -s

load the kext

send me a picture/log of it

sorry for the crashes ;)

iwi2200

i think that the mem leak bug is called "mbuf cluster leak"

can someone find out something about this?

deamobile,

you have iwi3945 as en3

did you unplug en1 and en2 before testing?

xhemp,

did you get the same log messages?

en1 and en2 are parallels protocols.

So not unplugged, and can't. should i deactivate them?

en0, My ethernet was unplugged.

I can safe boot, but don't think the logs will help, because the iwi kext isn't loaded in safe boot.

read previous post - i explain how to do it for iwi2100...

iwi2200 rev 340

changes for mbuf cluster bug

please check if the bug still occurs

can someone write an howto in iwidarwin for boot with -s and get log messages?

if you get kernel panics

boot with -s

check the disc with fsck -fs

if you get errors that fsck can't fix you'll have to format and reinstall mac os.

can try diskwarrior to fix it if fsck fails

from time to time i have to do this - really sucks

Well, i'll install the new kext, after deactivating all the protocols, if it helps, i'll post the logs :)

Thanks in advance

Edit:

Sorry, my hand isn't that steady ;)

No log, but a photo about the kernel panic.

It's about the IONetworkingFamily and IOPCIFamily.

The last line are readable, i hope it's enough.

And if not, someone should explain to me, how to get the log of that.

I'll do that tomorrow, i'm off now.

About the log messages, it's already in the FAQ :)

sys pref -> network-> drop down menu

Now I get it ! Yesterday I just jumped over that because I didn't "need" logs. Sorry, very tired.

In a little while I will post logs. Yesterday's rev + rev 339, or just the new one?

Please people, stop pestering!

This thread is already 85 pages long, and could use some cleaning.

If you would like to help testing, just do it!

And don't post things like:

I would like to help testing, but how. (Read the FAQ)

Great job, so how's the progress? (Test and you'll find out)

I'm here to test, if needed.(Test or leave it)

Don't post useless posts!

Sorry for the bitchy behavior, but it needed to be said ;)

Deamobile,

I didn't get your point.

What is the problem with the post having 85 pages? And the problem with the questions?

Maybe, the developers, need to know that people wants to test, this is motivation.

Read this:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=14169

And asking the same questions over and over again, isn't motivating, it's anoying.

And the developers will know if people want to test, if they actually do.

The homepage of the project, isn't made just to take a look at.

It's there to inform people, and make people clear how they can help with the development.

I didn't know that you own the topic or the site cause you speak as you do.

Tell what you think but not like this, being rude, I am sure that it will be better understandable.

No hard feelings.

Well, with being bitchy, i meant rude.

But i've read most pages, and it's almost all the same, people posting, wanting to test, but never do.

And I know, that if someone just comes in, they can't be bothered, reading through 85 pages, they just scroll down to the last page, post what the want to know/say, and wait for a reply.

But there are also people, who read the forum rules, read like 20 pages of this topic, then get anoyed (like me), because the've read more" I want to test) then progress about the development.

Didn't mean to be rude, so sorry for that.

But i hope you can understand me, and severall others with the info above given. :)

And about the speaking as if i do...

I don't own them.

But i've read the rules, and because of that, i can point people out to them.

Not meant in a rude way.

But people should just read before the actually post something. :P
