Thanks a lot @laobamac_yyds Now, Stuck at login screen. The wheel has disappeared after entering the password for the session. So no Finder, no desktop of course. I don't understand why ?

Try this, I read it somewhere:
When you type the password, don't press Enter.
Hold down the Shift key + Enter.

 

or rehabilitate WEG

I don't use FileVault at all. My machine is working well before update to Beta 4.

When I hold the shot key + Enter, the spinning wheel is appearing few seconds instead of cursor. But nothin... Always stuck on login window. 🥲 

Same issue Beta 2 --> Beta 3. I did a clean install to solve it. Strange.

Do you also have Sequoia installed?
You can check this by typing

 

diskutil apfs list

 

in the terminal 

And see the FileVault status on the Tahoe drive. What is it?

Yes (Locked) or No

I don't have Sequoia installed on my Z390 system. Only Tahoe Beta. So I boot USB Installer to recovery mode:

 

FileVault:  NO on Data and Preboot Volume.

Re enable WEG after installation. If the system still cannot be accessed, it may be an issue with the file vault

Thanks. But I never activate FileVault on my Z390 machine or else hacks. From Recovery mode, I reset user password without success. I can't connect from my account on login screen. So as I said before, no finder, no desktop...

Very smooth upgrade from Tahoe Beta 3 -> Beta 4 on my 15-year old 2010 HackBookPro6,2.  Patiently waiting for non-metal Nvidia Tesla patches from OCLP Devs.  As stated previously, File Vault is no longer automatic - after Tahoe Beta 4 upgrade, macOS asked whether to enable File Vault.

EDIT: Note - when I upgraded my HackMini8,1 via incremental OTA (not the full macOS installer), I was not prompted to enable FileVault.  FileVault was disabled prior to the incremental Beta 4 upgrade and remained disabled after the upgrade.  On my HackBookPro6,2, I performed the upgrade with a full USB installer.  After performing the Beta 4 upgrade with a full installer, I was prompted to enable FileVault.

Update to Beta 4 (coming from b3) went fine again. FileVault didn't automatically turn on, same as previous upgrade. No changes have been made to my EFI.

To successfully install I disabled WEG+Polaris22Fixup until I got a black screen on the TV, I turned off and re-enabled the above mentioned kexts and rebooted to finish the system setup phase.

On my x870e hero Tahoe became a bit problematic to instal

I have to disable unsupported Realtek ethernet 5Gbps and also Intel i 226V doesn't work at all

On previous os i can boot without disabling unsupported ethernet and intel ethernet works well with AppleIGC kext

 

Some of you are using i226V with tahoe and below id? (disableIOMapper does not help here and VTD is not present in AMD motherboard bios)

Try disable SIP in Recovery Mode before update  my friend

csrutil authenticated-root disable
reboot

Unfortunately some sealed snapshots only cause trouble if SIP is enable (it seems to me)

The installation of Beta 4 was not that easy, first when try to update, my USB ports not work at all.

After that I made an installation USB with my NVME USB3 in my real Mac.

 

Try to install, get stuck at 16%.

Tried again and remove every single kext that is not required, after and hour or more I get stuck in 16%, then the freeze of my system start working again and the installation was successfully.

 

Now my system is working as it should.

I have a Sapphire Pulse 6800XT, and on the System Report it says "Metal  - supported", but does not identify a version number.  However, if you look at my Geekbench report, you can see that my 6800XT response is excellent - almost as good as a 6900XT.

 

A couple of issues:  Preview is still buggy and hangs often.  The system isn't as stable as I would like, but its a bit better than Beta 3.  Baby steps I guess.  The CPU scores are a bit low for a i7-14700K, (single core in particular), but after all, its a Beta, right?  This could and should get better as the Beta rollouts continue. (I hope).

 

I do have Bluetooth (BCM) and audio (via HDMI and capability on my monitors).  No Wifi, of course (but I use a 10G Ethernet card so Wifi just isn't that important to me - I can wait for OCLP).  

 

 

You don't need to use whatever green kext with rx6800 gpu. just add this to device properties

Yes, it is annoying. Especially mail app menu changing dark and light mode as I scroll. Maybe a beta 4 bug?

BTW, how are you getting a different system info display? I only see vertical system info - see attached.
