kaoskinkae
We continue studying the beta 3 of Tahoe on my two computers. On the OLD: I get to sleep when using the SSDT SSDT-XHCXPRW.aml. By removing the USB ports to be woken up. I can return from sleep by pressing the POWER key. On the NEW computer: I can't get to sleep, it goes into sleep and after a few seconds it wakes up again. I have passed a command from terminal and that is what it says. I don't know if it is related to the Bluetooth keyboard and mouse devices on the Mac. deeveedee
@Montblanc I am finding that GeekBench 6 Metal Benchmarks for my RX 560x are ~20% lower with SMBIOS MacPro7,1 than they are with SMBIOS MacMini8,1 for my hack here. When testing with SMBIOS MacMini8,1, I am not seeing any significant GB6 Metal benchmark differences between macOS Sequoia and Tahoe Beta 3. However, I did see a temporary drop in GB6 Metal Benchmarks immediately after upgrading to Tahoe Beta 3. This temporary drop resolved itself and GB6 Metal benchmarks returned to "normal" after a few reboots of Tahoe Beta 3. In summary: RX 560x GB6 Metal Benchmarks in Tahoe Beta 3 are ~20% lower with SMBIOS MacPro7,1 than they are with SMBIOS MacMini8,1 No significant RX 560x GB6 Metal Benchmark differences between Tahoe Beta 3 and Sequoia when tested with SMBIOS MacMini8,1 (I haven't tested macOS earlier than Tahoe Beta 3 with SMBIOS MacPro7,1) See other test results here. EDIT: My system specs are as follows: WhateverGreen.kext 1.7.0 / Lilu.kext 1.7.1 Open Core 1.0.5 Release dGPU: RX 560x 4GB Baffin (Polaris 21) Edited July 16, 2025 by deeveedee 6 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361162-pre-release-macos-tahoe/page/105/#findComment-2837211 Share on other sites

MakAsrock
On my Asrock-Z690-PG-Reptide, the DMAR table does not have entries that interfere with Hackintosh, and there is no need to drop it bat I can boot in Tahoe b3 with ethernet problem with Open Core 1.0.5 Release. deeveedee
@MakAsrock I'm not able to view your config.plist right now. You may need this in your config.plist even if you didn't need it in Sequoia: Kernel > Quirks > DisableIoMapper = true. 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361162-pre-release-macos-tahoe/page/105/#findComment-2837304 Share on other sites

Indeed, the difference in the OC and Clover configs (in which the network card works), is in this option. There is a problem with virtualization in Tahoe, It works fine in Sequoia, but the situation has changed in Tahoe. In order for my network realtek to work in Tahoe, I had to turn off virtualization. deeveedee
@MakAsrock I first learned about this from lorys89 here. Mieze tried to address this with a change to IntelMausiEthernet.kext, but indicates here that the only solution may be to disable AppleVTD. deeveedee
@innerd Give me a minute ... EDIT: My crystal ball doesn't have an answer. Please provide your EFI, last working version of macOS with your EFI, whether you upgraded to your current version from a previous version or performed a clean install, your graphics card... deeveedee
In all Tahoe Beta versions, I was experiencing occasional MS Remote Desktop connection failures when using Acidanthera's IntelMausi.kext 1.0.8. These issues have been completely resolved by switching to Mieze's IntelMausiEthernet.kext 2.5.5d0. Note that with Tahoe, I need 'Kernel > Quirks > DisableIoMapper = true' in my Open Core config.plist for working Ethernet. My hack 's Ethernet: Intel I219LM Gigabit Ethernet. 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361162-pre-release-macos-tahoe/page/105/#findComment-2837375 Share on other sites

Ladies and Gentlemen I cracked the code as what was also done by others before me. How to Clean Install Tahoe Use the Opencore-Simplify app on Windows and choose a Mac version without the need for OCLP to enable WLFI. I chose Ventura in the process. Choose the 7,1 Mac Pro SmBIOS model to build the EFI this is important. In the EFI FOLDER, disable WEG.kext as this will inhibit the install. Boot off the newly created EFI Folder and clean the NvRAM at least twice, this also is very important and must be done. With the absence of the WEG kext, purple lines will appear on the screen for a few seconds but the installer will go on to the first language screen. During the setup if you want to keep your usual Mac Model (SmBIOS) and not use the 7,1 Mac model, do not furnish all your data I.e Apple P/W etc. Just fill in the ones that must be filled in before you can move on to the next window. You have now reached the Desktop, you can now discard the 7,1 EFI Folder and use your usual one. I use Mac Model 20,20. Reboot the machine off your desired Mac Model EFI in place which will show the change of model was successful. I have tested this Method twice on a test disk and each step as described was successful.
