Devo aspettare MyKextInstaller_Beta_V4? Beh, preferisco questo metodo. È più complesso perché bisogna entrare in modalità di ripristino, ma aspetto che venga risolto. Inoltre, non ho fretta di attivare l'audio su entrambi i computer, sia sul NUOVO che sul VECCHIO .

If the app doesn't find it, it downloads and installs the KDK itself. There's also a Restore Snapshot function. You don't have to enter Recovery, nor do you need to disable SIP. Csr-active-config 03080000 in the plist.

Are you dual-booting with Windows? If so, I think that's Windows' doing, not MacOS'. However, you can simply rename the partition back to EFI from the side panel. :)

What does Windows have to do with it, poor thing? 😆
I've always booted Windows from OC ... nothing like this has ever happened.

Perfect installation on OLD: using an iMacPro 1.1, deactivation to install WhateverGreen.kext. The installation is quick and complete, but the monitor does not turn on. It remains in standby mode with a red light. Once I calculate the time it finishes installing, or better yet, the system goes into standby mode and shuts down. I activate the kext and the system starts up perfectly, but I have the same problem. We have no sound.

How did you add that picture in About My Mac?

Did happen to me. Twice so far. There is a reason why I mentioned that. :) It happens when you’re using Windows’ EFI instead of the one that MacOS created.

I don't use OCLP or OCLP-Mod on my hackintosh, and I do use Restrict Events and smvbm (latest versions).  The time its taking is not a complaint as I don't really care how long it takes.  I already have B4 on my phone and on my M4, so I'm good.

Metal 4 on the M series machines, that's nice!  Also, the very first AI mod I've seen is a option to use AI to summarize Notifications.  More later.

Ah ok. Then…I don’t know what else it could be. Those are usually the things that prevent you from getting the smaller OTA installer instead of the full installer.

With beta 4, I was lazy, and didn’t remove OCLP patches before upgrading. So I got the full installer, as well.
I also upgraded my M1 Pro MacBook Pro with no issues. But interestingly enough, also with no mention of the new AI features. Maybe I disabled them and forgot about it. The hack did mention it though. :))

Anyway, enjoy!

If the install was successful, use the same EFI Folder you used to boot other macOS versions i.e Sonoma or Sequoia.

That EFI I would imagine contains your regular Mac Model opposed to 7,1 minus with WEG disabled.

In my own case, my regular Mac Model is iMac20,2 but I had to use 7,1 Pro to make the installation.

At reaching the Tahoe Desktop, I remove the 7,1 USB install drive, mount the EFI Partition of Tahoe and paste the iMac 20,2 EFI there.

I then reboot the machine which will now boot from the different EFI Folder, clean the NvRAM and on reaching the Desktop, About this Mac will show the data for a iMac 20,2 model.

PS - The different EFI on my machine, WEG kext is Enabled and runs without any problems. Hope this helps.

Sorry for late. I'm using the two different EFI - one for Tahoe and another for Ventura. SMBios is same - iMac20.1 but I can't merge them.

Successful OTA 1.94GB delta update from Beta3 to Beta4_25A5316i for my Skylake NUC6i5SYH.  Surprisingly, I was offered the update even though I was logged out of iCloud and my Apple account.  OK that SIP was disabled...

I believe the Migration Assistant doesn't work for EVERYONE!
Only for the enlightened of Olympus!
😂

It works for everyone. You just need to press command + Q and choose stop app before entering the loop. The migration stop and you can login immediately or after reboot. I have tried in core2, ivybridge, Haswell racks.

So, my final post on this version of the Beta (B4).  System boots great and about 10-15% faster than Beta 3, but not with Whatevergreen (the very latest version).  Whatevergreen must be disabled.

I have a Sapphire Pulse 6800XT, and on the System Report it says "Metal  - supported", but does not identify a version number.  However, if you look at my Geekbench report, you can see that my 6800XT response is excellent - almost as good as a 6900XT.

A couple of issues:  Preview is still buggy and hangs often.  The system isn't as stable as I would like, but its a bit better than Beta 3.  Baby steps I guess.  The CPU scores are a bit low for a i7-14700K, (single core in particular), but after all, its a Beta, right?  This could and should get better as the Beta rollouts continue. (I hope).

I do have Bluetooth (BCM) and audio (via HDMI and capability on my monitors).  No Wifi, of course (but I use a 10G Ethernet card so Wifi just isn't that important to me - I can wait for OCLP).

They finally decided to let the user choose whether to enable FileVault or not... it's about time lol

Interesting. They asked in Beta 2. It was disabled for me in both updates after that.

I didn't use the suggested command because after looping about 6 times, macOS Tahoe stopped and waited for me to log in.
BUT no data was migrated.
I'll try Migration Assistant again...

EDIT:
I'm trying to migrate using Time Machine.

Missed tonight's entire show abroad. 🙃 Back home finally also my update to DP 4. This time I also had to revert the OCLP-Mod Root patch to get the incremental update instead of the full installer. And this time I also had to disable again Whatevergreen.kext to overcome the KC blah, blah, blah.

No success with Migration Assistant!
I said I knew Young @miliuco ! But it didn't work!
It didn't work with Time Machine and with the Tahoe installed on an external SSD (Backup).
I'll do a clean install and install the apps.
I wanted to see the Migration Assistant process happen! But...
Thanks for the comments.

WhateverGreen-1.7.1 : dc427d2e2549a5ef2f569a847cfb0c856adbc65929a28a5a41c9b19b7fae9034

I tried this version, I have no black screen

Would you mind posting a link to the WhateverGreen.kext version that you downloaded.  The only change published by Acidanthera after 1.7.0 is a version change to 1.7.1.  There are no published functional changes between 1.7.0 and 1.7.1.  Thank you.

Smooth and flawless upgrade from Tahoe Beta 3 -> Beta 4 on my HackMini8,1 with Radeon RX 560x dGPU.  Details about the upgrade are as follows:

  • OTA incremental upgrade
  • Open Core 1.0.5
  • WhateverGreen.kext 1.7.0 with boot-arg -wegnoegpu during upgrade.  Removed boot-arg -wegnoegpu after upgrade.
  • Disabled BluetoolFixup.kext during upgrade.  Re-enabled BluetoolFixup.kext after upgrade. (I forgot to test the upgrade with BluetoolFixup.kext enabled)
  • I'm using VoodooHDA.kext 3.0.2 (not using OCLP-Mod or KextInstaller / AppleHDA), so audio was fully functional after upgrade with no additional operations.
  • SIP remains partially disabled on my hack with csr-active-config = <01000000> (only Allow Untrusted Kexts is set for installation of VoodooHDA.kext in /Library/Extensions)
  • FileVault remained disabled during/after upgrade.
