HyperX7
I also successfully installed macOS Sonoma on my old system. I actually upgraded to Sonoma by doing the config edit on my running macOS Ventura system. The problems I have; 1. VoodooI2C.kext is preventing starting the system, probably the problem will be eliminated with the update. Up to now, last Sonoma RC does not appear. Apple usually releases the new version in a short time, I don't know if this time they are going to wait for the final version or it is just a delay. These apps and other similar ones simply access Apple's servers so, if the version you are looking for is not there, it will not be in the download app either. Note: Download Full Installer is an original work by scriptingosx but is outdated (just up to Big Sur), the developer has my pull request to update the app up to Sonoma but he is busy, I hope eventually he'll merge soon the PR. 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/356881-pre-release-macos-sonoma/page/67/#findComment-2811278 Share on other sites
HyperX7
Although I use the ipc_control_port _options=0 boot argument, Whatsapp Desktop gives an error at open the app and does not open. The error I received was "Due to a problem, WhatsApp had to be restarted." Is there anyone who has experienced this and an additional solution method. I get the same results in both of my systems seen in my signature. I did in fact, but.. the same problem was present also in Ventura, I though was some issue due to OCLP patching and never asked since in my case those are just SSD for testing purpose. PS Question: Opening System profiler/Ethernet also crashes or open normally? Cyberdevs
2 hours ago, HyperX7 said: Whatsapp Desktop gives an error at open the app and does not open I believe that's because of the SIP configuration. I did some test a while back and with SIP set to 03080000 WhatsApp won't open (Not on Ventura nor Sonoma) but if you change SIP to 00000000 it will work which breaks the OCLP Root Patching so I don't think ipc_control_port _options=0 has anything to do with WhatsApp not working. 4 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/356881-pre-release-macos-sonoma/page/67/#findComment-2811288 Share on other sites

Do you have to use OCLP for any devices or just installed Sonoma without using root pathces? 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/356881-pre-release-macos-sonoma/page/67/#findComment-2811293 Share on other sites

Cyberdevs
I guess amfi=0x80 plays another role since SIP and amfi both are security features so it's no wonder that WhatApp won't work when both are disabled. 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/356881-pre-release-macos-sonoma/page/67/#findComment-2811298 Share on other sites

I reported this problem when it was first suggested that, to use OCLP, you had to use the bootarg amfi=0x80. I switched to the AMFIPass.kext and this solved the problem for me. BTW, I had the same problem with Firefox, not just WhatsApp. 4 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/356881-pre-release-macos-sonoma/page/67/#findComment-2811299 Share on other sites

BALDY_MAN
I think a big part of my resent install troubles. was that my ADATA M.2 Drive was on its way out. as it decided to pack up Sunday. (crashed the hack and no longer visible) I got a new m.2 Sabrent Rocket. and installed without problems 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/356881-pre-release-macos-sonoma/page/67/#findComment-2811313 Share on other sites

Im fix my OTA Update with ANY SMBIOS, checking somethings like DMAR Table (and PACTHS) from ACPI extract tables, using SSDTTime, correct boot args and configure correct config.plist menus. Spoiler If use ventura and above use this number 0 on MinDate and MinVersion Spoiler SecureBootModel or Default Spoiler csr-config on Nvram with 8 zeros. <00000000> Spoiler And if necessary Disable BluetoolFixup.kext on EFI boot, only that you need it. After update, turn on again. My compiled kexts, SSDTS and Opencore with XCODE not need BluetoolFixup.kext anymore.
