Hellmonkeys
Hey, replaced the kernel in my JaS 10.4.8 SSE2 Beta9 update and I booted fine. But as stated previously, I am also getting random crashes of safari, Colloquy, etc. With the old Beta9 SSE2 I never got these... but thanks for your work. JaS
Can anyone get to the gui now with these new sse3 instructions emulated on a true 10.4.8 install? Could the instability be the mix of old frameworks and libs + new emulation ? ChiefWiggum
A bit unstable (not complaining ) Unstable : ITunes (Crashed after playing for 5 seconds). Ditto PPC Version of ITunes. Firefox M$ Word SSE2 Beta9 works perfect !! JaS is there a 10.4.8 ppf for SSE2 which I can use ? (On the 10.4.8 SSE3 DVD you released around 1 month back. Darwin reboots immediately on boot in my case) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35416-sse2-new-beta/#findComment-251972 Share on other sites

SaberSHO
unfortunatly, no OSX86Geek. I have been trying to get a pure 10.4.8 install working on sse2, but no go to gui. Keep in mind that there are still a few instructions that rufus and semthex need to work on. I have no doubts that it will be possible in the future however. I believe there were none instructions to work on, there were 13 and the 11 needed ones are made. the 2 other were intel hyperthryding specific and would not work when emulated on AMD. So this is what you got, they will only get better and faster. SaberSHO
the instructions might be there, but they may not be working 100%. or they may be too slow and thus the system times out waiting for the results. So after some more work and optimizing, it might be possible, but right now it not possible to have a pure 10.4.8 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35416-sse2-new-beta/#findComment-252334 Share on other sites

So far it works better then i though for a beta. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35416-sse2-new-beta/#findComment-252339 Share on other sites
Bruce Wang
Sigh...still had no luck. Below is what I did: 1. Freshly installed JaS 10.4.7......again. 2. Applied JaS 8.8.1 beta9 SEE2 patch. 3. Replaced the kernel with SSE2_exp2 kernel. 4. Did the Preinding things 5. Reboot 6. Booted with -v -f -x 7. Stopped at the same place as beta9 right after mode switch Screen shot attached.
