After the auto-boot it's the same. There's a moment where it stops printing verbose for about 4-5 seconds and then restart. obus Posted March 26, 2020 Share Posted March 26, 2020 (edited) After updating to 10.15.4 I get this message when trying to set primary boot disk with bless tool: "The nvram tool was unable to set a preference" Second problem is booting to black screen with or without agdpmod=vit9696/agdpmod=pikera boot arguments on SMBIOS iMac Pro1,1. With SMBIOS Mac Pro7,1 booting is working without any boot arguments. I'm on OC 0.5.6 and everything was working fine in Catalina 10.15.3 Any ideas? This is normal, the nvidia card drivers are not loaded in recovery mode and so graphics are running in basic software mode without acceleration. The kernel chokes, because reasons, especially on AMD systems only God knows why. When an issue is not exclusive to OpenCore (i.e. it might be outdated or borked kernel patches here, or a GPU issue), it is not ontopic for an OpenCore discussion. Well, the Installation or Post-Installation section depending on which step you're stuck. Ontopic are discussion of how to configure OpenCore (or anything else directly related to it) and, if the kernel dies at an earlier stage, which quirks could be applicable. With AMD requiring a felt 500 kernel patches that may break with updates, that is much too vague to tell whether it even *can* relate to OpenCore. If you create a thread, feel free to update your post with the link of course, I just don't like posts that cover literally my entires screen that have nothing to do with OC here.
