@ic005k - Hi I forgot to ask does this Configurator App contain a builtin update notification or does one have to visit GitHub for clarification? - Thanks.

Sorry, there is currently no built-in update reminder. You must visit github to download and update.

Edit - Hi I don't know if this is just my system. but there seems to be a bug with this update. It will not launch whereas the previous version was ok. I tried with SIP enabled/disabled also Gatekeeper (see attached) still no joy.

Is the file broken? Please download again.

Absolutely Perfect now!!!!!!!!, big thanks for taking the time, Kudos my friend. :thumbsup_anim:

On a lighter note what is the thought behind choosing the App's Icon? Because I recommended the app to a few newcomers to OC, whilst they liked the app very much, they disliked the Icon as they think that it belies a great app. My take really is, as long as it does what it says I am happy. :thumbsup_anim:

This icon does not have any special meaning, just find one at random, ha ha. Can you help recommend an icon or design an icon? Thank you.

This code indentation problem, I will look into it later. Because it is a built-in style of Qt development tools, if you need to customize it, it may take some time and effort.
But I feel that Qt's code indentation is much more elegant than xcode. Based on the plist file editor developed by Xcode, their code indentation is very empty and not compact. Hmm, this is just the characteristic of each development tool.
Everything can be improved.

if you like it .. its the one i use for myself :)

Here

I would like to ask also for a change on how all 3 apps you made store their preferences. since in all $HOME should be present a .config folder also used for this by many others applications, if it doesn't bother you would it be possible to change the directory for your .ini files there?

just to keep it clean...

I can help you with that, I hope to have some time on the weekend and maybe we can think of something together.

Okay, I will standardize these .ini configuration files.

Which application is more perfect for editing config.plist "OpenCore Configurator or QtOpenCoreConfig"?

Thanks.

I think you can try both of these apps, and finally see which app is more suitable for you.

Not to prolong the 'which OC Configurator is better' - This is a screen shot from the Mackie one and as you can clearly see this entry was entered involuntarily by the app which is completely wrong, 'Boolean' should be either Yes or No.

Thank you for the explanation.

Ok, it seems that everyone like your design of this icon, please attach ICNS, ICO, PNG Package Upload. Also tell me Your name and what region or country you are from, and I will include information about the icon designer in the ‘about’ section of the APP. Thank you very much!

Hi I have a slight query and hopefully you can explain. I have doing a series of test by building different EFI Folders with the 'QtOpenCoreConfig' app and came across an entry that was not in my original config.plist that was ported over. Each time I use the 'Sample.plist' and not the 'Custom' which I know contains more data. I must add when I use OC Validate, it showed all ok also when I removed these entries all was still ok. I like to keep my config.plists as light as possible by removing data not attributed or relevant to my system, so if you can enlighten as why the adage or if it was design. Thanks.

I see what you mean. It was designed to retain the previous data such as the Datahub when using Automatic, and to use the DataHub again without having to re-enter the data.
In the next release I will make an option for the user to choose whether or not to keep the data from the Datahub. Thank you for your feedback.

Like I said it did not cause a problem and the option to add it or not is already there, I just missed it as I assumed the app would only add what I ported over from the old config.plist so it is all good no sweat.

This feature has been added, please download the latest version. As for the app icon, we’ll have to wait for a response from the designer, and the app icon will probably be updated in the next release.

Do you need a specific size?

No special size is required. Well, the easiest way is to give me a 1024x1024 png file and I will do the rest.

In general, the maximum icns is 1024x1024, and ico (used under Windows) and png (used under Linux) are 256x256.
