If this is your EFI tree lay-out, lilu.kext is out of position, it should be first in the array before any other kext. Have a look at the official OC Guide for clarity. Good luck. Sorry I should have mentioned if your EFI is Opencore.

This layout is on Opencore 059 debug

config.plist listed the first place. have a look

i did the command line from dortania guide to see if its working properly

ahh .. interesting to see our latest OC is still working with HighSierra but unfortunately we optimized our EFI's for Catalina and AG and me no longer provide HighSierra support here, very sorry.

But there might be another guy here who is able to support you with NVidia

@AudioGod Sorry for the missconception im new in this page,

First thing i was asking for help for a patched ssdt-plug but i got yours, turns out it worked, my power management became funtional at this stage, the only thing i can say its not working is an optimiced ssdt-plug for high sierra 10,13,6, as i have a z390 aorus pro wifi / 8700k / gtx 1060 6gb and i cannot go to mojave or catalina until i purchase a new grafics card 5700xt im on the way, but money its money.

So the thing is im i ok with this ssdt?? or may i need a new one??

cuda / opencl / metal are showing on premiere cc 2019, vdachecker shows error

With AG OpenCore 0.5.9 EFI who using APFS in their SSD's (Samsung 860 EVO and/or WDC) are you using TRIM enabled commands or APFS no need them anymore? I'm try to find this info but have no luck, all says different things about it. Now I do not have any 'TRIM support' enabled on all my SSD's and I do not know... do i need it or not.

Help me to understand this guys, please.

Just want to thank AudioGod and everyone else that's helped with the latest OpenCore EFI. I made the switch from Clover a couple of weeks ago and it was easy peasy. Running on OpenCore is super stable, clean and feels 100% like a real mac. Wow.

I'm keen to move my rig over to OpenCore but don't really know where to start. Is there a guide similar to Glasgoods that shows how to implement an OpenCore system end to end?

I have seen mention of doing a conversion but would a clean install make for a better system in the long run?

Added an additional question

A clean installation is always the best choice.

I cannot say about migrating to OC because i havent tried it yet, but what i can say is that i have the same installation since Yosemite and even kept it when moving to this motherboard from the X58 platform in High Sierra so i never lost my audio presets and settings and reinstall all this stuff again.

Just keep a Clone as backup and a working Clover boot stick handy and try it.

Audiogod's and the rest of the team's magic made this possible and saved at least a week of reinstalling from the beginning.

In terms of A to Z, this is the OpenCore bible: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Desktop-Guide/

Thank you AudioGod, I'm going to take your advice and try the OpenCore EFI first. *fingers crossed*

Hi @Essentiial, did it worked?

I need to build a mini-itx hackintosh and I really want to create one that works with AudioGod EFI, because it just works great.

Thanks

Hi friends, Looking for advice on an issue I'm experiencing with my setup:

Sometimes after a random time, my keyboard changes from QWERTY to œ∑´®†¥¨ˆøπ“‘åß∂ƒ©˙∆˚¬…æΩ≈ç√∫˜µ≤≥

In other words, seems to me like the data sent from the keyboard get corrupted, after that, all characters are different than the key I'm typing, this is happening in different USB ports, I did many testing trying to figure out if is one port or another with no luck apparently is happening with all of them.

I have two main differences on the hardware of this thread, I have the WIFI version of the MB and a thunderbolt card.

As my setup is a bit different I created a USBMap that I'm attaching if anyone of you wants to take a look

Can some of you give me any pointers on this thing?

Thanks!

Your mapping is wrong. H10 is not USB3, but Internal (255). You lack SS entries. Additionally, you're missing some port current limit settings, notably:

kUSBSleepPortCurrentLimit

kUSBSleepPowerSupply

kUSBWakePortCurrentLimit

kUSBWakePowerSupply

Each are siblings of iMac19,1-XHC.

Here is the correct map:

  • HS01 – Unused
  • HS02 – Unused
  • SS01 – USB-C (case)
  • SS02 – USB-C (case)
  • HS/SS03 – USB3
  • HS/SS04 – USB3
  • HS/SS05 – USB3
  • HS/SS06 – USB-C (with switch)
  • HS/SS07 – USB3
  • HS/SS08 – USB3
  • HS/SS09 – USB3 (case)
  • HS/SS10 – USB3 (case)
  • HS11 – Internal USB 2.0 Header (WiFi/BT card)
  • HS12 – Unused
  • HS13 – 4xUSB2.0

WiFi is irrelevant. You can disable in BIOS but macOS will ignore regardless. FWIW, the WiFi module sits on HS14, so it does not interfere with anything. The EFI from the regular Pro will work without issue.

For a visual view, go here: https://github.com/ultratiem/aorus-z390-pro (DO NOT USE THIS EFI IT'S OUTDATED).

Lastly, I strongly suggest using Hackintool to create your map.

If I am not mistake, the Clover EFI provided does not need any USBMap kext. Only the OpenCore one. It is coded into the DSDT for our board. And the one provided works perfectly. Why are you trying to map?

^^^^ my guess would be because of the above

I've got a question for @AudioGod and the other smart people here. :)

Every couple of boots my computer panics and throws the prohibited symbol. I just reboot and it works just fine. I have reset NVRAM a couple of times but I still get  this behavior.

I just updated to OcQuirks 23 in hopes that it might fix it but it is still happening.

Any ideas of what to do? I know I will have to dive into the logs. Any guidance as to what I am looking for?

I had that occasional issue too until I switched to AudioGod's OpenCore EFI. Give it a try, it's super stable for me. Runs and feels like a real Mac. Love it!!!
